    Central Lock Died?

    Hello everyone,

I have a problem with the central lock which occured today and possibly just got worse over time as I was trying to figure out what's going on.

Basically I noticed the passenger side, trunk, and the rear doors won't open when I pressed the remote twice. Only the driver's side open. I thought that was weird but since I was in a hurry to get something from the car, I ignored it and just used the key to open the trunk.

The key was then used to open the door for me to get in and as I started driving, I noticed I could not lock my door from the inside with the button. When I arrived to my destination, I figured something was going on so I was trying to figure out what.

At first, I would press the remote once and the driver's door would open. Tried it twice but nothing else would open. Then as I kept trying to check/figure out what's going on, now even the driver's side door won't open with the remote.

So all in all, remote is no useless and only key can be used to open the driver's side. The button inside is also useless.

I realized there must be something going on with the pump but has anyone got a clue what exactly is going on?

I have heard the dealership chargers over 500 to replace the whole thing which is close to being ridiculous. So if there is a way you guys know how to avoid that 500 bill, I will really appreciate the help.

Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post. I was just trying to make it as clear as possible.

    Re: Central Lock Died?

The pump has two valves---selective locking (driver's door only) and regular locking (all doors & trunk). Normal coding instructs selective locking when using the remote. The lock button inside the car should perform regular locking/unlocking.

Sounds like your central locking vacuum pump may have taken the dive.
