Non S-Line Sexified.... lots of pics (HD splitter inside)

here are the pics... beyond these mods, i can't think of much more i can do, short of buying a new bumper, to make the non-Sline front more aggressive looking

- OEM blackout front grill (Vagparts.com) $200 shipped
- a can of black PlastiDip $7
- the VinnyMod / HomeDepot splitter $20
- Luminics H11 XenonMatch Foglights (Ultra White) $24 shipped
total spent: $251 + minimal elbow grease

Black out the sides with the plasti-dip. I did and it looks great and haven't had any problems with it. I do need to touch it up just from the original paint job.

If you use the Plasti-dip, on your final coat, when it is still wet, peel the tape and whatever else you have protecting your paint off. If you wait till it is dry, the plasti-dip likes to come off with the tape. It sticks to most things. But if you are careful when you take it off when it is wet, you should be just fine.

I was at my dealer the other day and was talking to one salesman, and he said I have the same car as you but i don't have the Ti package. I told him i don't either, i just Painted it myself, but thanks it was a great comment!!!!

One thing i got was one of the plastic drop cloths. It was in a clear package with red writing. it was a pretty think roll of plastic. I then used painters tape and held it in place so i didn't have to use news paper!

Hey Muffman, how does the HD splitter look in person? Like can someone tell it's a garage door seal? If you touch it, does it flex a lot? Any tips on what to do on the ends of it to make it blend in real nice? Also, did you plasti-dip the HD splitter? I'm thinking of plasti-dip blacking out my grill, not the chrome parts... just the grill section. Any difficulties plasti-dipping that portion? How many layers did you put down on it?

As you can tell i'm lovin what you did and I already have an S-Line.

I kinda wrote that in a hurry. I meant how many coats of plastidip regarding the grill sectio... not the chrome parts, but just the middle grey plastic area around the rings. I'm mos def. gonna plastidip both grill and splitter for a nice finish, but I thought the plastic on the grill might need more coats, since one is rubber and one is plastic.

I'm gonna keep the chrome around my grill.

alkemix, the grill came like that (blackout grill from vagparts), i only painted the front plate holder and splitter. fwiw, i put 4 or 5 coats of plastidip on the front plate holder.. i'm pretty sure that'll hold up

moore, no directions really needed. all you need is the garage door seal from home depot/lowes/etc, some heavy duty 3m double-sided tape and scissors

HD splitter actually looks really good! I know Miata owners have been using garage door seals for years on both the front and rear.

If you don't mind, can you take a picture of the splitter ends? I'd like to see how you finished off the cutting.
