Re: Local shop that does mods

    thanks for the info guys...

    quote from redmond european
    1.5hrs X $100/hr - $150 for snub mount install
    3hrs X $100/hr - $300 for jhm ss

You guys think this is typical in terms of total hours and rates?

yeah, installing the short shifter is easy. just make sure before you put it all back together that you have it adjusted so that you can get it in every gear.

I have several friends that are ASE certified Toyota Master Techs, and do alot of sidejobs in their spare time, for much less than any shop would charge. They stay really busy with extra work, doing everything from full 30K maintenance to suspension to forced induction. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you're interested.

Absolutely. However, they usually aren't into doing stuff like diagnosis since it's very time consuming and doesn't pay that well b/c of the time involved.

It is not for a diagnostic visit, more like replacing the suspensions. Please LMK if they may be interested, TIA.

Sure, just shoot me a PM with the exact year/model/trim of your car, and exactly what parts you want installed, and I can get you a quote.

Re: Local shop that does mods

That quote seams about right. The SS is not hard to install, but takes some time to adjust it properly. If you mess it up, forget about reverse, & scrapping your knuckles when you shift. It can take some time to get it all right.

The snub, for being so small, it's a PITA to get to, 1.5hrs seams spot on. Most of the time, people wait until they do the timing belt, then the install is free, since they are in there.

Re: Local shop that does mods

SSK should probably be less at about 1.5hrs IMHO.
Snub should be a bit more IMHO.

Redmond European is great. Cantrell Motorsports in Kirkland is also a good option for lots of high performance stuff.
