Ticketed for Window Tinting?

I got a ticket a couple days ago for my front tint being too dark (as I watched a dozen other cars go by me) on the 5 north by carlsbad,ca. Does anyone know if there is a alternative to getting the tint removed? I heard, could not confirm, that there is a fine I can pay instead? Any words.....?

If you have pictures of your car without tints, take the case to court and put a date stamp on the pictures of a recent date...Case closed.

This is why you ALWAYS take pictures of car without tints before you put them on!!!
