would these bulbs cross over to our application? or anyone know bulb types and places to get a similar product?

if we can build list of bulb numbers for the lic and interior lights (dome/map/visor mirrors/rear dome/etc.) we can prob piece together a kit or have one put together by on of these two companies...anyone know part numbers/bulb types?

    Re: alternative to LED bulbs?

I am changing my bulbs peice by peice and found my bulb part nu bers from here. Then cross referanced part numbers and purchased from here. So far, I just changed the map and dome lights along with boost gauge bulb to match interiour vent lights. I will do the trunk and foot wells next and that should be it. Don't want to over do it.

...how about you post the bulb numbers man. thats the point of building these threads

    Re: alternative to LED bulbs?

i've had issues finding LEDs for the license plates w/o resistors. let us know how these ebay ones work out.

i've tried 2 sets from ebay and for both, only one can stay on w/ one halogen...but never both at the same time. confused!?!?!

this is a given guys...the whole point is ALTERNATIVE...aka these "xenon" halogen bulbs...with the clean/pure white light

and please clarify your last sentence...

    Re: alternative to LED bulbs?

ok, one day i will learn to pay attention and read properly...one day.

i've tried LEDs w/o success...that's thing about my 2nd sentence.

one thing to be cautious of is that when i've gotten bulbs similar to what you purchased on eBay, but for my "city lights", it melted part of the holster as well as caused the headlight housing to bubble.

    Re: alternative to LED bulbs?

exactly...which is why i posted such a thread. ive seen good results with these "blue bulbs"

...the melting occurred with normal halogens like i posted? or LEDs

    Re: alternative to LED bulbs?

    ill see how it goes...

so our lic plate plates do require two then huh? im glad it comes with 2 bulbs then

btw is the screw easy to get to and remove? any issue swapping these?
i remember some problems with the b6ers and stripping the screw head and basically being fucked in future swaps

    Re: alternative to LED bulbs?

best way to get at those screws is to remove the license plate...you need as much room as possible. you'll need a small phillps, smaller then a #1, but not as small as a eyeglass driver. and yes, they strip easily. i ended up having to buy two new housings b/c the original ones were stripped.

Sorry man, my eyes read faster than I permitted myself to actually read the content. Honest mistake. In my mind, I was thinking "Alternative LEDs". Re: alternative to LED bulbs?

i think were all familiar with the site...
i was more concerned with what bulb numbers these said kits i linked above come with to see if they are compatible with our cars...

this does help tho, and in fact is what i used to make my EBAY purchase

Adam, could you maybe take a night pic with one of the license plate bulbs you purchased in and one of the stock ones still in, or a before and after pic at in the same light (preferably night time, lol) so we can see the color difference. I wanted to go with something NON LED like you, just want to see the color difference first. Thanks man.

sweet thanks! you should report the seller for too high of shipping charges, lol. I know they do that to make up more cost for the low BIN price... but they ship them in a .50 padded envelope, with postage less than $1. im looking for a seller who has all our bulb #s and can combine them all into one shipping price since they all want around $7-11 shipping on a frickin bulb.

    Re: alternative to LED bulbs?

    did the license plate bulbs...
its deff a mild change, but better none the less...
ill do the reverse tonight and take a pic

its a subtle change, a more pure halogen light...nothing like the pics in the links above tho. there is no blue in the light whatsoever...just alot less yellow

hoping the reverse is noticeable, because i can see the piss yellow in the reflections when i back-up and it looks bad

ima try a pair of these for lic plate: http://autolumination.com/festoon_before_after.htm
...might do the domes as well. they are cheap, and a bmw forum boasts good results

*edit: ordered 6. (2 for lic, and 4 for dome/map lights...all same bulb)
