    new rs4 mileage question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I am looking at an '08 rs4, but it has 2,000 miles on it. I was wondering what sort of price discount I should be shooting for with a "new" car with that many miles, everything else being equal.

I'd say not much! Who's selling - dealer, private, etc.?

Yeah, you're definitely not likely to find much of a "discount." Just my two-cents, though. Why don't you just decide what you're willing to pay/think is fair and go make an offer. The worst they can say is NFW.

Yup, I'd shoot for 10k, then another adjustment for mileage. Remember that although these cars are on their way out. There isn't another RS model to take it's place and that should keep the price stable on the last ones available.

    I could be wrong.

    Re: new rs4 mileage question

    Thanks for the feedback guys.

I know about the discounts people are getting, what I'm specifically asking about is any discount for high mileage on a "new" rs4, as I'm not going to pay the same price for one with <100 miles vs. one with 2,000, and i was wondering what would be fair.

    Re: new rs4 mileage question

you are not gonna get much of a discount on it at all especially from a dealer....some may even sell at the same price as a msrp or issue wht they call a "dealer" price and knock off a few dollars either way expect to pay top dollar

    Re: new rs4 mileage question

I did the same thing, picked up a low mile (3100 miles) 07' RS 4 for 57K, in perfect shape.

The nice thing is the gas guzzler tax is a one time hit and it was paid, obviously.

Really? Where did you hear that from? The new Rs4 is to retain the V8 motor and it's not making it to the states for several years so no RS models for us for a while.

^ That's what I understand - the V8 is to be retained in the RS4.

    Re: new rs4 mileage question

Wrong... v10 not an 8 and it is not certain if it is even coming here yet.

The dollar is really weak for it to sell here and I have also heard there are issues with it running on 91 octane. It only seems to work well on 93 or higher octane.

    Re: new rs4 mileage question

Right now my local has got about $15K of room in the pricing, and I was tempted to "Upgrade." You should easily be able to get that with those miles and the current factory to dealer incentives. '09 models are here, and while enthusiasts see a car that won't be able to be bought new for a couple of years, dealers just see an '08 model on the lot.
