    anybody know of an ipod solution other than the stealerships $1625 option??

    you dont need to spend that much, there are two options:
    1) the dennison unit from enfig.com

    OR

    2) the dealer is quoting that much because they want to replace your glove box; to allow a slot for the AMI and a connector to tap in with the CD player

    BUT IF YOU DO NOT WANT CD'S ANYMORE (I DID NOT, THATS WHY I HAVE AN IPOD) THEY CAN REMOVE THE CD PLAYER AND THE AMI WILL SLIDE RIGHT IN; THE MMI RECOGNIZED IT IMMEDIATLY, ITS A DIRECT SWAP. YOU DO LOOSE CD'S......... STILL HAVE TO PONY UP NEARLY 550 FOR THE AMI
