2004 2.7 A6 VS 2005 BMW 330ci

Hi,
I am just curious to see, what car would win from a rolling start. My friend just picked up an 05 330ci (even thought I told him to go for 07 335i) I have 04 2.7auto. Once the weather picks up probably this weekend, will see what happens. RWD 330ci with 225hsp hmmm. projected 0-60 6.3. O yea both are auto's.

my first thoughts - and I'm no expert - are that from a dig, you might have a chance, but from a roll (depending on starting speed, gear, etc.) you'd get smoked....I hope I'm wrong!

stock 2.7 has more hp and torque, no? weight can't be all that much more... and I know nothing about gear ratios on either auto trans

you would crush him, they only have 220 hp, fucking BMW's are weak and so is a 330CI, ive beat 3 of them and my car isn't even chipped yet.

If i'm not mistaken but the 05 330 has 250hp so it is roughly 215whp and with your 2.7T un chipped is only 250 so if you chip it you'll be at 318 chp w/ 382 fltbs torque so assume 238AWHP and the weight difference it should be a close race.

330 wins. No doubt.
BMW are anything but weak. Their v6 with less hp almost alwAys beats the competition. Plus 330 is lighter and our tips suck.
Additionally his drivetrain powerloss is probably 10% less than Ours.
Chip and you 'll give him a fight.

Seriously, considering two equal drivers, A6 loses. Quattro won't help unless you race him in the rain. It actually'd be to your detriment as you'll lose more power thru the drivetrain. He'll most likely lauch better with his tranny.YOu'll have to brake launch releasing when boost is up (I wouldn't do this too often though :) ). you have a boost gauge?

If you race film it, i want to see it.

A6 loses stock? not by much -- 330i was 225 hp (+10 with 6 sp starting 2003 as "perf package"), with chip A6 wins very easily. Unfair you say? Of course not. Who would buy 2.7t and not spend $500 or so.

Got pretty interesting when 330i hit 255hp (2006?). Game ended with 335t

stock A6 loses. weighs more and makes less power at the wheels due to quattro. chip the A6 and the 330i (any year/model) won't be a problem.

I will try to film if I can. Maybe this weekend some time. We are both good drivers, and drive close to similar styles. I do not have a boost gauge yet. (want to get the vent boost gauge in the future when I get my GIAC chip)
I don't know if I want to brake launch release. Haven't done that yet. I drove his car a little today (under 60 & it wasn't as quick as I expected) but quick.
Will see what happens.

I own both.....You will win in a straight line but get smoked in the twisties, I've tested this.
If its a zhp it will be closer

In the twisties? I have taken some pretty sick turns well with no screeching or anything. For the weight difference I guess I could see it. For the boat it is, She handles very well. Stock weight on the bmw is close to 3300lbs
2.7 is 3960lbs

Front/Rear weight distribution is why they handle better BMW does everything possible to make it perfect like locating the battery in the trunk and a whole bunch of other stuff.

the biggest problem is going to be because the car is a Tip

I've never had any troubles with anyone off the line, but my car is a 6-speed

I dont see why you guys are saying the 2.7T is going to loose
