What do you guys think of these lights?

Saw these on EUROaleksey's thread and found them on ebay. Just wondering what you guys think of the quality (for those of you that have them). I know ebay usually means crap but these look like a good substitute for $700 valeo ecodes.

Too bad the projector is missing the chrome ring. I think these might be too "black". unless you want that look.

I was going to say they look a little dark to me. I don't like the joey mod because it makes the lights way too dark so I don't know if I'll like these. Someone post pics!!

They certainly look nice, but I would personally be hesitant about a purchase unless an AZ member was able to provide some feedback about the actual product from that particular eBay seller.

those look even more cheap...and remember that you get what you pay for.
just look for a set of OEM xenon housings. they look the cleanest IMO.

ha, your joking right?

btw i already have xenons so i'm not looking for an upgrade kit, just gray or black housings.. thinking about just buying some b6s4 headlights and calling it a day.

I was thinking of doing the same, will our stock ballast and bulbs fit the B6 S4 housings?

A4TUNE, If anything, I'd spend the extra $200 and buy from Avalon. At least that way you're dealing with a quality source. However, I can't speak to these housings but can't imagine they'd be a bad choice.

They don't. It's a halogen projector with cheap Chinese H7 HID bulbs.

Those lights look even cheaper then the chrome angel eye ones. No matter what they all suck, and you are better off with your stock headlights over these pieces of poo poo.

No matter what car you have these ebay lights are the same quality which is garbage. I also believe they are all made from the same company as well, and the sellers alter the names to make unsuspecting ebayers or beginner modders think these lights are different then the other garbage that was already produced and sold.

osofastA4 has these on his denim blue and they look good in person... they may be cheap but look fine in person on the car.

I'm having the same dilemma..Either i pull my stock lamps apart and do the Joey Mod which im not sure i have the patience for..or spend crazy $$ on E-codes...those chinese lamps are lookin better by the minute, I also agree i dont really dig the halos or "angel eyes" on these fine european machines. If you score those let me know how they turn out

i was looking into these after seeing osofast's post. i talked to HIDCONCEPTS (retailer on here) and they said to adapt my HID ballasts into these halogen housings i would need to buy new d2s bulbs, H7 adapters, and ignitors. he quoted me $125 shipped for two of each.

i also contemplated the halo's, but i am also unsure if i like the halo lights. honestly, what im ultimatly looking for here is looks. as long as i can see at night, i could care less about beam patteren. so if i were going to get one of these, ide get the non-halo.

i was also looking at some s4 bixenons and then just clear corner them. everything would be plug and play with my xenons. looks to be about $350 shipped if i got them off ebay

s4 bi-xenons may be the way im going, since im going to paint my roof a dark grey instead of black. would go well together i think.

i actually just bought a set of these and they arrived the other day. i havent put them on yet because im waiting for my new wheels and coilovers to arrive so i can see the transformation all at once

but the quality seems pretty damn good to me. they look fantastic in person and i think if you are looking for that blacked out look without spending an arm and a leg, or risking fucking up your housings, these are a fantastic option. as far as the hid thing, i dont care for hid's so whether or not you can use them in these housings is of no concern for me. also, not sure who said the sellers sucks, but the seller who i got mine from was great, they arrived in like three days, very well packaged. i dunno, but i recommend these.

anyways i'm going to pass on these. looks like i have to spend massive amounts of cash like always and just get some ecodes or b6s4 headlights (and no i wouldn't be doing the cc mod on them).

btw the b6s4 headlights come in bixenon and single correct?

AFAIK, B6 S4 headlights are all Bi Xenon. There are A4 housings first offered on '05s that are standard low beam xenon with blacked out "Anthracite" colored interiors instead of Chromed. The look like S4 Bi Xenons, except the projector lens is smaller, and the housing has two rear covers exactly like the regular xenons and halogen housings used from '02>'05.

Actually, S4 housings come in both xenon and bi-xenon versions, both with grey interiors. earlier B6 S4s have the 'single' xenons, until the bixenon version twas released.

As far as stock ballasts fitting S4 housings, it depends on the year of your car. If its 02-03 you probably have 5G ballast which do not fit bi-xenon housings, only the single xenons.
If you have an 04+ you have 5GL which will fit either type of housing.
The change in ballast came in 03 MY so if you have an 03 you have to check which ones you have.

also, if you have an 02-03, you may need to lengthen the wiring harness on the pass side to get a bi-xenon housing to fit.

i found out all this the hard way.
