so i just did the fuel pump and the fuel filter, and i was just wondering what else i should watch out for and what else is likely to go in the future. I know i have to do the timing belt soon cause the car has 95000 km. Other than that what else could go?

yeah, last thing you want is your glove compartment to start rattling, it'll cause excess vibraition and your motor mounts will fail.

really tho, a set of coilpacks is just a good thing to have in your trunk, you never know when they are going to pop.

Flapper valve and rotator splint will probably go next.

But seriously, get your timing belt checked at 80,000mi (whatever that is in km). Clutch replacement may be on the near horizon too.

well the shop where the car is at now, thinks my oil feed line from the oil pan up got clogged up. They are replacing it now. $600 and hope that that is the problem.

that's a lot of money to replace something they "think" is the problem. have you changed the oil regularly throughout the life of the car with synthetic and a new filter?

assuming your a 1.8t and nothing else has been done i say, valve cover gasket. rear coolant flange, motor mounts, vac hoses and check valves, DV, (+1) on clutch and maybe 02 sensor.

Yes, everything was maintained timely and with quality parts. The only problem is I'm the second owner and got the car at 70,000 mi. I have no idea how the first owner treated it. I did run the seafoam at the beginning of the summer but I guess did not help. Mechanic said that it is 90% chance to be the cause unless I did some damage to the valves while pulling off the freeway when the light came on. I shall find out tomorrow..

There are four coil packs. So if only one as been replace the others will go soon. But most likely they went ahead and changed all of them. Either way it is always good to have a spare. Not spending 30 extra bucks isnt worth getting stuck somewhere with a shitty running car.
