Need to do my brakes. I am looking at the ecs 2 Piece OE Replica rotors and not sure on what pads. only have a bout $1000 to spend on them. So big brake kit is out of question. Any suggestions?

Re: Brake Pad and rotor suggestions....

I'm running the ECS light-weight 2 piece floating rotors. Saved 12lbs per side up front and 1lb per side in the rear (just for looks). You'll see people post about ECS rotors warping in the past, but I know several owners who got great mileage out of them. Sia got over 30k (then sold his car) and Eddieman has gotten over 40k miles so far with no problems. All rotors are subject to warping if abused. If you're just driving street, you'll be fine. As for brake pads, I'm running Carbotech. You can find them at several vendors online or directly from Carbotech. Ask for Mike Jr. and pick his brain for best application for you. Outstanding products and excellent customer service. They will provide you the perfect application for a direct OEM fit (shims/springs/clips etc). I've got the Bobcats on my S4 and they are very low dust with excellent bite. Did I mention low dust? Oh, you'll have to short your wear sensor wire (not needed anyways and you'll seriously limit you pad choices if you insist on keeping this feature not to mention added cost).

    Have a good one...Steve

Word of caution - stay away from Hawk pads for the S4 (fronts). They make the correct pad, but they do not have the correct clips which in turn do not allow you to re-install your spring clips.
