window regulator replacement question

Do I actually need to get the window all the way down before taking the door apart? The DIY says to, but mine is so jammed up it won't go further than half way.

I didint replace mine I just fixed the green bracket and for that You only need to get it down far enough to allow your torx tool to remove the 2 bolts that hold the green bracket to the black one glued to the bottom of the window.
