Where to find a Wheel Ramp (RS4 Sway Install)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I am set to receive my RS4 rear anti sway bar today and i'm looking for a good set of wheel ramps to raise the car and keep the suspension loaded while I work on it.

I was looking at this one

Does anyone with a B7 stock suspension know if this will have any issues with clearance and getting up the ramp.

    Thanks.

if you talking about the blitz ramps, no they would rub the front bumper and would clear fine.

For the sway bar install you can easily back the car on these...but if you are lowered they will not work that well on the front since the bumper hits.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought it was important to the suspension loaded the same way it would be as when you're driving. As in having all four wheels the same level without any one or two taking more load than they would normally... Thereby making it so that you would need to have all four wheels on the ramps or they are useless. I might be blowing smoke though...

Re: Where to find a Wheel Ramp (RS4 Sway Install)

ya, I heard something about having the suspension loaded to make the removal/install a bit easier.

OP: if you plan on lowering your car, I wouldnt recommend ramps as when you lower you will more than likely not be able to go up the ramps from the front bumper. I had a set of ramps and had to give them away...wouldnt want you to go through that, save a few bucks.

Sadly, you cant return ramps from autozone haha

being on a ramp shouldn't change the load. it is the same as having your car on a step driveway and the front on the road!
    The usual things!!

Re: Where to find a Wheel Ramp (RS4 Sway Install)

When they say the suspension has to be loaded, it just means that whatever section of the car your working on has to be at the same level. So if you're doing your rear sway bar, you should have both your rear wheels on ramps, but your front wheels can remain on the ground. this goes vice versa if you're doing the front sway bars.

As for ramps, you can pick up a set for around $40 at Wal-Mart and they'll get the job done. if you're lowered, however, forget it, you need some race/lowered car ramps to get your nose in the air.

I use the Blitz Rhino Ramps you have pictured on Amazon's site with my lowered Avant. I had no problems clearing the front bumper until I added Votex chin spoilers. Slipping in a small 1/4 or 3/8" strip of plywood solves that problem though. they can be had for ~$40 from places like AutoZone or possibly Wal-Mart

Thanks guys, that's exactly what I needed to know. Hopefully I'll get the sway bar on by the end of the week. Just need the ramps now.

I did this for my install, backed up a 2x10 onto a 4x4, gave me plenty of room underneath for the job. Not sure if the front end would rub on a lowered car, I've got 4x4 suspension still but my neighbor does the same thing with his EVO and that's lower than I am.

i usually just lift the car and use a jack to load the suspension.. either that or the rhino ramps are good, but if you lower the car, it won't clear..

Sears Automotive does not have any and neither did Walmart. Any other brick and mortar stores carry them?
