Sold CEL reads: "Over Advanced Camshaft Timing"
My valves are also ticking really loud under load and during warm-up of car, otherwhise the car runs fine. I am getting the cam timing chain replaced real soon, anything else that could set this light off?

    Re: CEL code help?

has the car recently had a timing belt service? if so you may be 1-2 teeth off. much more than that = catastrophic engine failure. Also, sludge is notorious for the 1.8t's and if you have bearing damage, audi will install a brand spankin' new engine (up to 8 years and unlimited mileage warranty) free of charge. if you can revert to stock fairly easily, take it to a local dealer and have them check it out.
