    Headlight adjustment... pt2

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So sunset audi replaced both my headlights this afternoon, everything looked fine. Then i began my 12 hour road trip and quickly discovered my lights are trying to light the sky. I pulled next to a wall and the regular lights shine just as high as the "high beams". I adjusted the screw that is parallel to the ground above the headlight to all the way in, it pushes the lights down a bit but not enough to make a difference. HELP!!! I HAVE to leave but ill check this thread on my iphone and i have some basic tools with me.

    Any help would be great!

We have auto leveling headlights. Adjusting the screw won't do it. You have to have Audi do the adjustment and they charge $125 to do it. Is your car lowered?

I haven't really looked at how the light housing and the autoleveling works on the Audi but on my E46 M3, it does it's autoleveling according to the front control arms. You can also adjust the height by moving the whole headlight housing, I had one that was off when they put the angle eyes in my car.

No temp fix. Like I posted in your previouse thread, this has to be accomplished at the stealership. I can't believe they did that to you. Pretty poor service not to mention unsafe.

Headlight adjustments are free at the dealer. My dealer tried to charge me until I called Audi NA. Audi states all headlight adjustments are a saftey issue and are covered under the factory warranty.

I had the same experience with Sunset. My headlights aren't pointing as high as yours by the sound of it, but my wife followed me home in the S4 the other night and it pert near seared my retinas.

Anyone else verify this? I am having a similar issue. It seems like i am lighting up the headliners of the cars in front of me, more so than the road itself.. When i called my local dealer, they said that because my car is out of warranty i would have to pay for the repair/adjustment.

I aimed mine myself.... on the back of the housing there are two white plastic caps you remove (This is a B6, no clue if it applies to a B7) and then you use a torx bit and you can adjust the horizontal and vertical aim of each one. A total beatch to get it right unless you have somewhere perfectly level to do the adjustment though.

I have a good one for you guys. I have a B6 but put s4 hids in after. Now i'm having to figure out how to aim my headlights. the leveling motors are there the the car came with halogens, so I don't think that function would work. is there anything else I can do?
