I bled my clutch and breaks using castro gtx dot4. i bled them the old fashion method, about 6 months ago. i was driving down the road the other day and shifted into 2nd grinded and now the clutch is not disengaging fast enough in 3456 and 1-2 are really bad clunks hard going in. what break fluid should i use or do you fellow azers recommend. thanks joe. it also might be my 1st n second syncro and sliders in the tranny but 1st the cheaper method.

I'm confused, your typing break, so I assume 'brake', but you want to replace your tranny fluid?

Anyway, Stasis uses Redline 75W/90 synthetic gear oil when you buy one of their transmissions.

ok, I am going to assume you mean clutch slave and master cylinder fluid since thats shared with the brakes...

    Motul RBF600

call up Jason @ STaSIS and order some up, they sell it for a pretty good price. 707-935-9700 x 119

Re: what break fluid should i use

Pentosin DOT4 racing, highest boiling point of any DOT4 fluid out there (higher than ATE superblue).
Its compatible with DOT 3 and DOT 4 fluids, some of those high performance fluids like the motul are not.

Don't use ATE superblue. Use Motul RBF600, heard some found it cheap on ebay, or go to rockymountainatv.com

Re: what break fluid should i use

if i did not bleed my clutch but blead my brakes with motul 5.1 will there be an issue with the old non-fluid mixing with the new synthetic fluid?

the fluid won't change the feel of the clutch pedal because the fluid in that system isn't going to see the temperatures the fluid in the braking system will.

however, the higher the boiling point of the fluid, the less moisture it attracts and the longer you can run it before having to flush it out again.

Agree that the fluid in the clutch won't see as high of temps, but when I put ATE superblue in I had a slightly different clutch feel and a little squeaky until I flushed it out with Motul RBF600

I've never felt a difference. is there a chance the superblue was contaminated?

Re: what break fluid should i use

The blue dye can cause a squeaky clutch pedal. ATE Typ.200 is the same stuff without the dye. It is an excellent fluid.

Clarification: higher WET temps are what you mean. Dry temps are for fresh fluid, wet temps are for old.

Highly unlikely. If you search here and on AW there's many others who experienced similarly. Like said above the blue dye isn't compatible with some rubber seals or something in our cars.
