    Hurst Pistol Grip

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Alright, so after watching Kowalski rip up the Challenger (not Charger, my mistake) in Vanishing Point (1971 for all us youngins) a buddy talked me into trying out the pistol grip. Advance Auto had one in stock and I gave er' a try. I had previously installed an eBay short throw kit (needed some work) and lowered the throw even further. With the pistol grip installed it has transformed this vehicle into whole new animal. I highly recommend it, and now my 70's Corvette buddy can't rip off the damn shift knob slammin gears in my ride...We thought the Hurst would melt when it was in sight of a german automobile, but they have been getting along quite well...

oh dear lord... make the pain stop.

WTF was wrong with your shifter that your buddy was ripping your knob off? something sounds wrong there.

i ripped the stock knob off several times myself. the ball slides off the plastic 2-piece cylinder.

looks good..but i prefer a slight 'over the top' grip.. i think the pistol grip would get tiresome at the angle you have to grip it.

It works quite well, its a great addition and functionality wise its quite efficient. It may be a little out of place but it's a bit different than what you would normally see. What do I know, I'm just a mechanical engineer who designs these sorts of systems and vehicles. Thanks for all the responses.....I'm interested to see if anyone else tries it.

    Re: Hurst Pistol Grip

<Disclaimer> I'm all about being different & trying new things...

..but are u serious. Forget the aesthetics, our trannies are not designed to bang through the gears like these shifters promote. I shift pretty quick for normal street driving & I usually don't have more than 2 fingers on the knob.

Is this really what this place turned into?
