    Re: Direct Bolt On

I'd get the GTRS elim over the GT2X.

The difference being that the GT2X isn't water cooled like the K03s, K04s, and GTRS/GT28 elims are.

But yeah an elim is always a good idea since you can get much more power than a K04 with the same supporting mods.

    Re: Direct Bolt On

Being just oil cooled is not that big of a deal if you have a turbo timer. If you don't you would have to leave the car running to let the turbo cool down if you want maximum life. Not to say this is not necessary to do this with a GTRS but they just don't get as hot.

    Re: Direct Bolt On

To the OP, for $1,100 there is not much you can do. You already have an aftermarket exhaust which is a plus towards the set up. If you really want a set up for that price, you would have to try and source out the pieces till you have a complete set up. I started on this process a couple months back, but decided to go a different route and sold the things I gathered for the same prices I bought them for (was gathering parts for a full GT2871r till I decided to go a different route). So, no loss on my behalf (I do not practice usury).

But you could make the set up work for cheap if you pick up pieces as they come along. Eliminator will be even cheaper than the full set up (assuming we are talking about the GT28RS and the GTRS). You would need at least a stage 2 clutch, MBC, AFPR, TIP, FMIC, Turbo kit (turbo and oil&coolant lines), and tuning kit (injectors and file). You can attach your current exhaust to your set up, so don't have to worry about that. Then get things to ease the driving such as motor and tranny mounts. If you take your time and source peices, you could have a complete set for maybe ~$2,250-500. But for $1,100 it is not going to happen. Even with a k04, supporting mods will cost you. You would still need all the same components (minus TIP and clutch. but I would at least get a stage 2) for a lesser turbo in my opinion.

Or you could do as I am doing and just save money till you have enough to get what you want. I will continue to save for maybe the next 2 1/2 to 3 years for the set up I want. Till then, my flashed k03s and exhaust keep me suffice

I'm pretty sure you will be fine with a stock clutch and a GTRS for a while. Just don't do any hardcore launches.

    Re: Direct Bolt On

well i just did the clutch at 116xxx miles (stock kicking myself in the ass for not going sb but i didnt have the money i had to borrow it from my parents) so i should be good with the clutch but i also have and apr chip would i be able to run that with this or would it be better if i just ran it on stock setting? till i get money to upgrade the chip and other stuff?
