Ideas for a Bay Area "Get Some Work Done" GTG

Me and a few others were thinking of a GtG where all of us who need some work done on our cars (suspension, minor engine work,etc), and the ones who can help get things done meet up sometime soon. I dont have any ideas for a DATE/TIME and LOCATION, so i thought i could hear some ideas, and maybe write down what each person needs help on or can help with. I think it would be fun. We can all pitch in on beer/drinks and food(bbq?), and have a nice turnout. Im open to suggestions, especially from the Og's

Yeah i mean it would be. Its basically getting together both the people who know very little about working on our cars, people who know somewhat, and those who really know what they are doing, the og's , and getting them to teach us how to do things, sort of like passing down the torch. Im sure most of us are eager to learn something new, and being physically present, experience the knowledge

Maybe to get things rolling, anyone have a location suitable for the day? Sounds like even if you're not having any work done, people will be offering food/beverages and friendly chit chat!
I'm renting a garage here in the city but there are no power outlets and poor lighting inside =T. A nice flat driveway/carport OR a shop! (wishful thinking) Let's make it happen!

oh man, last friday i was driving around my friend's house looking for parking near japantown in san jose..and i hooked a right turn into some dead end street...and i was like. "OMG, i've been here before..we've had an audizine gtg over here!!" It was where Kreative Kustoms used to be. We had one of those fix your car gtg/bbqs that day. *sigh* oh the good old days.

Don't have anything to install as of now but i would be down just to meet up and hangout. Meet some new people. I know my way around tools and engines a little so I mean I can help out but by no means an OG or even an experienced mechanic. But hey, whatever, it's nice to have an extra set of hands once in a while.

I could be in for something along these lines. I have always been out of town for previous gtg's. Also, if folks have stuff to sell, an impromptu swap meet sort of thing would be good too!

in terms of lowering, replacing shocks etc, I picked up a "through-bolt" socket set for the next time I had to do one. Mine was frozen solid when I installed my bilsteins last spring. Haven't had a chance to use them yet, and I've been looking for an excuse!

i'm definitely down to get some help. I'm very inexperienced but want to learn and this sounds awesome. I just ordered a set of bilsten shocks and h&r coils which need installation and if anyone has experience with the clear corner mod I'd love some help with that. I'm also in to help buy food and drinks.

I am thinking possibly a sunday at Vex Motorosports in San Jose on Commercial St. They are closed on Sundays but they have a pretty large lot. They do alignment there so maybe I can get them to open on Sunday so those who do get your car lowered, can get an alignment too! Start thinking of date and lets get this on!

damn, this coming sunday (21st) is the only one i'm free for until the 19th and 26th of oct. if we hook up before then, i can swing by possibly on the 28th just to help out.
