    rpm needle bouncing below 10 when coming to a stop

    or slowing down? i can feel the car semi shake or sputter but it bounces right back at 10. anyone know whats going on?

    spark plugs or coils? which is usually the case?

    could be either spark plugs or coilpacks. pull out coil packs one by one and see if the engine noise changes. if you pull one out and the engine noise doesn't get any worse, that one is bad

    btw aren't you in the wrong forums... Unless your signature isn't updated... And it's still 1,000 rpms not 10

    Mine did the same thing when coming to a stop the rpms would bounce around below 1k and sometimes it would even die. I unplugged my MAF and it went away.

    I'm guessing you dont have ability to check for codes with vag-com, but that is what I would check.

    Rough idle can also be caused by vacuum leak.
