Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
After the success of our 01E trans rebuild DVD and Rebuild Kit we thought we would continue that success with a 2.7t and 2.8L V6 Timing Belt Kit DVD.

Here is a link to the feeler thread that started it all -> http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=214697

The DVD is free with one of our Timing Belt Kits, but can also be purchased separately if you just want the knowledge or to see if you think you can tackle the job.

VIEW THE VIDEO TRAILER OF THE DVD HERE http://jhmotorsports.com/videos/JHM_...VD_Trailer.wmv

DVD is 51 minutes in length and that whole 51 minutes is spent just doing the timing belt, water pump and thermostat. With lots of tips and tricks along the way and showing you how to do it without the expensive alignment bar or crank lock tool.

Check both the DVD and the Timing Belt Kit with the DVD out here in our new store --> http://www.jhmotorsports.com/shop/ca..._56_60_100_131

In time that could be a possibility. Maybe at least a rod swap how to. If I get a rod swap to do over the winter and have the time I can look into it.

Re: NOW AVAILABLE! JHM DIY Timing Belt DVD and T-belt kits for 2.7T

Here is a Question I was asked via email. So I thought I would share.

    Jason,
I was wondering if you use OEM parts in your timing belt kit? Also,
does your video show anything as far as replacement of the cam and crank
seals? Lastly, i know it says the video shows you how to replace it
without the camlock bar, but does it give any info on how to do it with
    the bar?

    Answer I responded with:

They are all high quality after market German made replacements. Been running them on my car for 30k plus miles with tons of 7300 rpm abuse. My car is the test mule for my shop and most its miles are at the track or for R&D and around town.

VAST Performance has been using the same brands for a long time as well. The belts are both made by Continental. Same as the tires company that makes tires that are OE on Mercedes. Big brand overseas.

I do show how you would change the cam and cranks seals. I don't do the seal replacement but I show you how the tools connect and how you would get it apart with much detail. Basically a steering wheel and 2-jaw puller are all that are needed. I spend several minutes just showing this.

I also point out where the cam lock bar goes and make it clear on how it is used.

I have done hundreds of timing belts in my life on at least 50 different motors across many brands. So the info I give comes from that experience.

(NOTE: correction in the DVD, it is a 24mm 12 point socket for the crank bolt NOT a 25mm 12 point, we will update DVD soon)

Other than that the feedback is awesome.

Thanks to all who have purchased thus far.
