Help with new exhaust

Got a custom exhaust put on last friday. 2.5" from the flex pipe back going into a magnaflow 14815 muffler. (i replaced the stock flex with one from 034 motorsports)

Exhaust sounds awesome, some droning but not THAT bad, ill get used to it.

The only problem is when im WOT under full boost it makes a crazy ass buzzing sound. Sounds metallic. It ONLY does it under boost. I can go up to 7k without boost and it doesnt make the sound. I dont know if its just the turbo im hearing alot more. Or if something is whistling. another thread i read said it could be the flex pipe buzzing??? has anyone experienced this? Ill post up a video later on today if that helps.

It doesnt really sound BAD, i just want to make sure its what its suppose to sound like because iv never heard it on other turbo cars before...

no its not really that raspy, its more like the turbo spool is like SUPER loud

I love my 14815, had it installed last friday too. Sounds amazing.

Sounds like a resonance. Chance the size of the piping, the muffler, resonator, or any component and you change the resonance. This is why the Infinity cars and SUVs sound the same even with different size engines.

check to see if the exhaust is rubbing a heatshield

Wow that almost sounds like a leak in the intake. Definetly
not related to the exhaust components. Sounds like a pnuematic problem (related to air flow).

IE:
DV
Vac line
Intake
Belly tray
IC piping
Poly coupler

IDK im just a NA owner though. Thought I would make some guesses.

EDIT: at 43 seconds you can hear it clearly exactly when the DV lets off the pressure at shift. Plus you said its boost dependent, DV FTW.

kinda weird huh. its definetly not any sort of boost leak. It still holds at 20psi all day long.

It also never made that noise before i had the exhaust installed, which leads me to believe it has something to do with what i put in. IE: flex pipe, piping, muffler.

Like i said before, it doenst necessarily sound that bad, it just sounds like a REALLLY REALLLLY loud spool.

ya but i dont think thats my problem, because i can rev all the way up to 7k with no boost and it doesnt make a peep. Its ONLY during 1/2 - Full boost.

Well thats how mine is too. If i vacuum it all the way up, I dont hear it

don't want to interrupt your problem fixing, but you took out your resonator correct? I was just thinking of going the same route with the exhaust and couldn't decide whether to take out the resonator or have two mufflers in there and then take it out if i think its too quiet.
IN the vid with the camera inside, are your windows down or up?

When I was chipped I had the 2.5" flexpipe back as well with (1) 18" resonator which is 2.5" diameter. It wasnt too loud at all. But once I got that testpipe on, and my T28, I had to add another resonator as well.

update: Just jacked up the car, looked pretty much everywhere and ran my hand around the pipe from the cat alllllll the way back.....nothing is even close to hitting or rubbing.

From watching that video, in the first part where you are boosting, it sounds like the turbo.

Hmm, come to thing about it, I get that sound too when boosting on my K03s. I never paid attention to it but its there. Boosts just fine and pulls hard w/ 130k on it. Just remember, if it goes on you, you can always go bigger because itreally can't get any smaller.
