transmisson got me on the side of the road

I'm typin this from the side of the road right now . I was racin a dodge charger on the highway just b 4 downshifted to 4th and it grinded w.e it went in and I started gointhen shifted right to 6th. Come off the highway stop at a stop light and I can't get into first or second gear it feels like its just locked . Every other gear and reverse I can get into fine. This has happend before about 3 other times where I would grind a gear and not be able to get into another one. I have always just waited it out and the gears became avalliable again


So that's wut I'm doing now praying that these gears are gonna let me back in or I'm gonna have to burn a whole lotta clutch tryin to get home starting in 3rd

Just made it to my friends house a lot closer to home thank god I dident need to stop anywhere and start in 3rd. how fast r those jeep srt8s I was fuckin with one the entire way home on the highway I'm stage 1 giac chip. And he got a jump on me from 3rd gear roll preatty fasdt car

same shit happened to me after a track day. replaced a LOOOOOT of stuff with normal wear and tear on it.

about 4500$ and a month on the hoist.


10,000km later, the third gear syncro hub shat the bed.

still dont know what this one will cost me.

These transmissions are frankly not meant for what we put them through.

yea i am thinking of just picking up the rebuild kit since it come with new sync's..i was lucky enough to still be able to use second gear

Same thing happened to me...i let the car cool down, tried it again and i was able to get it into gear, still rough but i could drive it home. On the way home the problem fixed itself. Been 100% normal for about 5000 miles

its fixecd itslef like 3times before but everytime i grind a gear it happens again.... i was driving my car on my road and i got into 2nd twice but just tried again and cant do it =(. idkkkkkkkkkkkkk

drop the tranny yourself if you can. thats most of the labor costs right there.

The JHM rebuild vid is pertty damn good. I would feel comfortable doing it myself in a weekend, but i dont have a garage (condo) and i cant have my car on jackstands outside..... 1200 labor to remove and rebuild, not to bad

Ok so i decided to fuck around with the car today....
Manged to get second gear to work ... Let me know if you guys think this could just be my shiftlinkage...

I went onto a hill and tried starting in 1st wouldent go in , tried 2nd wouldent go in ok w.e

I start rolling down the hill and i pop it into 2nd preatty roughly w.e it works ... im rolling slowley still and manage to push it into first. I put the car back in neutral and come to a stop ... still cant get the car in first or second from a stop.

i keep doing this over and over hopeing something will magically happen. Finally now i can get into second from a complete stop and get into first sometimes if im slowely rolling.

If i try to get into first then it will make me Unable to get into 2nd and it gets like stuck.
If i only put it into 2nd it will not get stuck and it will work perfectly fine.

WTF helppppp!

I had a tight 1st and 2nd, shifted bad one day and lost 1st second and rev. It will feel fine for awhile but eventually it will just go completely out

Nice im thinking of fixing the tranny and selling it and getting a 05 S4 with warranty... once i fix it any 1 intrested in a stage 1 Casa? lol

good job smart guy....you have a fucked up tranny, and the same day you mess it up, you race someone else trying to limp it home? Wow, you deserve a screwed-up tranny. Just out of curiosity, how old are you?
