    Re: HID recommended ??

I have and Acumen kit and it works fine. Alot of people will recommend vvme.com because they are cheap and seem to work most of the time but you run the risk of getting a defective product. OEM is best but will cost 3X as much

    Re: HID recommended ??

most kits today are pretty good (ebay or those expesive ones). at $100 bucks you really cant go wrong with an ebay one. if your not sure if the voltages will match, contact the seller, usually they will include a harness with a built in capacitor so you wont throw codes. ive been running HID foglights from ebay for a good 2 years now... the only thing i had to get were new bulbs cause i aint feelin the yellow no more

McCulloch kit I had on my 02 A4 worked perfect, plug-n-play with no cutting or anything and no Dipped Headlight Warning. I bought it at www.xenonking.com They even give a one year warranty.

I don't remember but do a forum search and i know of at least one thread that lists the bulb type for every light in your car.

    hidconcept.com
Go for the Valeo OEM 4300k kit. It IS the factory HID kit (less xenon projectors & leveling) for a fraction of the price.
I have the 6000k bulbs with this kit and love it. No CEL's, ten minute install WITH the Clear Corner mod.

Will plugging in a cheap ebay HID kit (3000k) cause any problems with the wiring or electronics? Will anything get shorted?

6000k is the max you should go with for better light output/not to blind other drivers. Or even 4300k for the BEST light output.
I got 6000k for my fogs and headlights and i like them.

I see a lot of bull on that page. Where are the lumen output specs? What is "Wattage"? Input or output? And how do these idiots figure that their bulbs will last 500 hours longer than OEM, which is always Philips or Osram, in other words the best damn bulbs on the planet. This place is just another shitty Chinese HID kit seller...

I needed a cost effective solution and after seeing a successful install on AW I opted for one as well. I agree... the site has some, ahem, interesting figures but the kit works well and I've had no issues, outages or dipped headlite warnings.

Looks good... and sans BS. Maybe I'll go the DDM Tuning route if my Retro Solutions crap out. Hopefully not... I do like em.

Isn't there a vag-com fix for that, tell the car it's running HIDs and it won't complain about the ballast drawing only 35watts.

^^problem is that, i think it'll still have an error because the self leveling wouldn't be working.
