Idiot Bay Area Driver in a Toyota Tonight!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
On my way home tonight and a toyota highlander pulls out in front of me... so i honk and pull up close to them, they get up to the speed limit and then lay on the brakes causing me to lock mine up and come extremely close to hitting them! we both came to a stop and in the heat of the moment i took off and didn't think about getting out and yelling at some idiot.

This is all at like 10:30 at night on meridian with the roads all torn up, its pretty good i didn't lose grip and smash into them. I just thought this was the dumbest thing for someone to do on purpose because i was tailing them for there own mistake of pulling out in front of me.. I could see a brake tap maybe but to lock up the brakes and come complete stop is outrageous!

Sorry for some of you that don't care but i thought i had to share this stupid driver that should learn to not be a asshole driver late at night with no one around. Thought about turning around to pull out my bat! haha

So tell me what some of you guys would of done...

Re: Idiot Bay Area Driver in a Toyota Tonight!

I would've pulled up next to him, look him dead in the eyes, reach under my chair and pull out my 9m....

    But really,

I would never tailgate. If you were 1/2 a second too late you may have been in an accident and it would've been your fault. I always use the finger/create a laser light show with my high's. Seems to work. Glad that an accident was averted though!

Reaxion... dont know if I have met you yet but pulling out your gun would be straight up dumb! Would you actually shoot the other driver or just scare him/her? LOL, dont pull a strap unless your gonna pull the trigger dude. Fakin' the funk is the pussiest thing anyone can do on the road.

for as sh*tty as it may sound, you should have hit him. his insurance would have gotten you a nice little parting gift and he would be f*cked, as well he should for CAUSING an accident for an unjustifiable reason, in which insurance would further disclose.

my biggest worry/fear isnt the people in front of me, its the people behind me. I know I'm a damn good driver. I find myself pulling up to a light and glaring into my rear view saying "please stop, please stop, please stop". Ugh.

Re: Idiot Bay Area Driver in a Toyota Tonight!

I would have pulled up next to him and waved and gave him a thums up for being a dumb ass. Let him think it over.

I was always taught that just because you are a good driver, it does not mean that you are safe out there. You always have to watch out for all the other idiots out there.

That night I was also driving down 280 at about 80 in the fast lane and this other dumb ass in a camery starts weaving through traffic next to me so i slow down to let him get into my lane where there are no cars but he stays with me weaving through trying to get me to play cat and mouse.

I don't believe we have had the pleasure of meeting yet, but sorry to mislead you with the whole gun quote. I was being sarcastic.

I know it's hard in the heat of a moment, but relax, keep your distance and /or try to pass the shipping container (Refering to the economical and practical use of an SUV on the road aka Highlander). Meridian is a two lane road so you should not have any issue.
And just think of good karma, it will come around. If he wants to be an asshole and you get on his back - he succeeded. If you keep it cool, pass or pull away and let him do his think - try it you will feel better.
Keep it cool even so it's hard sometimes.

Re: Idiot Bay Area Driver in a Toyota Tonight!

    /\ I totally agree!

I used to have the worst road rage back when I was younger. I can't believe the numerous cars I've tailgated, high beamed, cut in front then drenched with wiper fluid water....oh gosh, so dangerous!! Even now, it's soooooooo hard to not flip off the other driver (I still do occassionaly - I wish my windows were tinted) and just keep cool.

My commute is almost 100 round trip miles a day and it's rare when I have an "uneventful" commute, but I just try not to let the get to me. Especially big frickin trucks (F150s,250s, 350s, silverados, tundas...etc.) ! I hate them with a passion, but now I try to keep the peace and let them have the lane when I see them coming up at me 90 mph.

I try to remember that those f*ckers who don't know how to drive or who drive reckless will get their bad karma in the end.

    It's just not worth it.

    thanks for the advice guys!
i typically wont tailgate but that night i did and didn't work out very well. I keep my cool with alot of things but he took it to far that night. Still wish i knew a face from it at least just so i could tell him good job and give him a thumbs up.

Re: Idiot Bay Area Driver in a Toyota Tonight!

I tried to pull over this dude in a 20XX Toyota Corolla today. I honked because he didnt merge properly onto highway 37 and he put us about 6 cars back from were we should have been. He drove like 35 the entire way towards Infineon (7am). When the road opened up I just passed him and ignored anything. He speeds up to flip me off! LOL, I was like "oh its so f*cking on now". When he saw how pissed I was, I didnt do $hit! He didnt wanna pull over and handle things either.

These are the drivers I cant stand. Talk alotta $hit but when real threatening $hit goes down, they back down! This is pretty much anyone also talking about pulling out a gun. nobody on AZ is seriously dumb enough to pull out a gun on the road dude. If you did, and didnt blow the guys head off next to you, you best expect an ass whoopin for fakin' the funk!

I hate road rage and what sucks is when I try to change and avoid it, it just follows me.

Funny how Prius drivers try to impose the speed limit on everyone by driving the speed limit in the fast lane, then flip you off and honk when you go around them. Like driving a Prius automatically makes them speed enforcement officers.

As for tailgating, I learned my lesson young (and a long time ago too). I was 22 years old when an older guy driving a Jaguar sedan cut me off on the Bay Bridge heading East. I flashed him a high beam, and he brake checked me. Ended up having the brush guard of my Jeep Cherokee put a little dimple on the edge of his trunk, but a chain reaction accident involving 4 cars occurred behind me. Fortunately I was not struck from behind. This clown then took me to small claims court alleging in excess of $2K in damages. I got him pretty good though - I submitted his DMV driving record to the judge showing 2 prior DUI convictions and driving under a suspended license. Also got him to admit to the judge that he had been drinking that night and that the CHP administered a sobriety check. He still won in court, but the judge only awarded him $380.

I'm a lot older now, married with kids and all. It just ain't worth the risk. The other driver could crash into you, cause you to get into a crash, possible injure yourself as well as others. Now I just drive like an old man and try not be noticed - LOL!

Now, every time somebody cuts me off or drives in an erratic or crazy manner, I just think to myself - that driver must be in a hurry due to some kind of emergency; I hope he gets there in one piece without hurting himself or anybody else. Like I said, it just ain't worth. Life's too short.

Okay, my old man rant is over.

Re: Idiot Bay Area Driver in a Toyota Tonight!

I dont know what this threads done to me. I noticed I have been straight chillin at 65-70mph since last week.

I guess its better but you know what funny... I got hit up by an old 80's Mustang 5.0 and a late 90's Integra since I have been cruisin'. Both times I had my family in the car and I was just pissed but had to hold it in.

When im the car setting the pace on the freeway, crap like that rarely happens. I also believe that if your driving just a tad faster than the rest, your less likely to get envolved in a fender bender.

Re: Idiot Bay Area Driver in a Toyota Tonight!

I was on my way to drop off my girlfriend at the train station and we were running low on time so I was trying to hurry. On a 35mph road there was some chick doing 25. I kept my distance but was looking to pass before I had to make a left onto a long road... Nothing, got stuck behind them. Then as I made my turn they bolted, I accelerated normal but they got side by side with another car that was doing 10mph under. At this time I wasnt sure what the hell the chick was doing but was getting a little pissed. couple more lights and a couple more cars and the chick would keep doing the same thing, speed up and slow down to block my ability to go the speed limit.. I finally got some clearing and just accelerated normally to get to about 10 over, and she pulled right behind me and tailgated me with no one in the other lane... This bitch was crazy.. At this point we come up to a little bit of traffic and I say fuck it and floor it going through some of the cars (lots of room, im a safe driver) on a 2 lane divided cross town road. We pull into a gas station to get my gf a drink before she left and they honked and blared their horn as they kept going....

Sucky story, just saying that you can inadvertently piss people off sometimes...

Now I have a friend who is just scary to drive with..... Oh dear god I have saved him from about 3 accidents by grabbing the wheel when he was going to merge without looking...
