False. Are we going to do the cracked rotor hat thing? If so, I'll have my mechanic post his pics of Alcons and/or Brembos with the same problem. The fact is that they all will crack if you drive in the salt. It's dissimilar metals and that's why it happens. I told him about the post on Audiworld regarding the cracked rotor hats and he has pictures of all of them cracking. In fact, I'll do you one better. Call Al at CPT or e-mail [email protected]. And for your info, he sells all of them...Stoptech, Brembo, and Alcon. He'll tell you how they all crack.

I have seen plenty of EVO guys have stoptech issues. Not just audis.

They do not warranty shit! Stoptech's warranty basically ends as soon as the item is out of their hands.

im gonna go with the ECS stage 4 kit when I do my BBK... brembo 6 pot for 1850 ? why not.... but with that big of a caliper up front, i have to do something to the back otherwise its going to look funny.

yes it will happen anytime 2 metals with a large delta in eletronegativities are in contact in each other along with salt or some other catalyst ... but

have your mechanic post pics of brembos / alcons with cracking hats, and i will summon the power of the 'dissatisfied stoptech user' and we will see who takes over.

ehh this isnt essentially true.. the porsche calipers are your standard 4 piston brembos... not really "designed" differently for the porsche..

Just like the Brembo's found on the EVO 8, 9 and 10. A good amount of those guys still upgrade as well.

Brembo gets my vote.

At the track (SCCA), I usually see a lot of Brembos, Wilwoods and AP, but who really needs (or can afford) the latter? My dad has a set of 6-pot Wilwoods on the GT1 Camaro (~650hp), and those are some seeeerious calipers. I've occasionally seen Alcons and Movits too, but I think these are more popular for street applications (at least in the S.E. United States).

If I could afford the Alcons I'd def. go there, and I'm growing increasingly less comfortable with Stop-Tech. You really can't beat the ECS BBK kits for the price, and they're essentially Brembo equipment which is good quality. Someone was mentioning that they've had good success at the track with a set of A4 brakes, good pads, lines, and fluid. I might just go with some 4-pots just to be safe though
