I am selling my B5 A4 and recently purchased a 2002 TT AWD 225hp. It only has 46k miles on it!!! . Right place right time kind of thing..I emailed him and he took it off of eBay, reserving it for me. After a carfax check out I was all for it!!

Yeah that means nothing. That means that the 2 previous owners weren't assholes. Hopefully you weren't dumb enough to send him the money before you receive the car

It's through ebay. it's insured as well. I made sure of ebay's protection insurance policy before I went ahead with the decision.

its not cash. it's paypal insured. there is no problems I have all the records up to the date of him wanting to rid the vehicle. Even if something is wrong here for that price, I could sell and still make money. Don't worry I still have my A4 in my garage. I won't sell that thing until all is a go.

Ebay wont do shit I got scamed for $600 when I bought a pocket bike awhile ago. No one did anything even though I filled out numerous scam reports. Never got money back never got the bike. Dude you are getting bent over. Its funny that you are so naive about it. There is no insurance with ebay. I was ripped off for $500 on ebay and I had the same "insurance" as you say you have. Unless you plan on driving there to pick it up and take it for a full inspection somewhere, then you are getting screwed big time. I called the police when I was scammed and gave them every bit of info they needed and they called me 2 days later and told me they could do nothing they couldnt find the person. So save yourself the trouble. Everyone here is saying you are getting scammed. Take the advice and chalk it up to a learning lesson.

Ok so he ships the car to you when it arrives its a cardboard box cut out of a TT, he gets the conformation that your "package" has been received and he gets your money. Have fun trying to get your money back

Ebay certainly DOES NOT cover fraud. If so then no one would get ripped off. Been there done that and Ebay will NOT cover you if you are ripped off. If an item is not as stated for say they get a warning NOTHING else. It happened t to me before. Believe me I tried everything to get my money back and nothing worked. And you said it was through paypal which is linked through Ebay for payment purposes. Let me ask you this. Why would this person take such a hit on value of the car to sell it ASAP? Its worth much more then what you are supposed to be buying it for. Why not leave it with family or friends until it sells for what its worth? He is taking you, whether you want to believe it or not

I am sorry that its a good deal to you and its for your graduation, but ebay really does not cover fraud, the worst the guy will get is a warning. if you dont want to listen to an honest audi community that is trying to help then dont, your loss. Hmmm... You know how i know its a scam besides moving out of the country thing? You emailed him and he took it off and reserved it for you. Why in the hell would anyone do that when they can continue the auction and maybe get more for it? I know this because i am an experienced seller on ebay.

I have gotten some really great deals on ebay before, and there are the occational people who just want to unload things as fast as possible.

However, if he took it off ebay, ended the aution early without a winner. EBAY DOES NOT OFFER ANY WARRANTY, and you have no claim with them, because you did not buy it from ebay, you bought it directly from the seller.


I hope it works out for you. Take some of the money you saved and buy a plane ticket to go look at it, drive it and pay in person.

yea your definately gunna get scammed, dont do it, only buy in person. i would never get a car off ebay, its a waste and you dont really know what kind of condition its in, for all you know that car could have a broken waterpump that ruined the engine or the timing chain went on it, you have no idea, just find one around your area. wisconsin has plenty for cheap.

LOL this definitely sounds like the classic car scam thats being run these days.

a friend of mine is in the market for a new car so we have been looking at craigslist ads all over the place. and they are ALL the same.

a person puts up a BMW, audi, or benz, which should be valued anywhere from 15-20K. then the person puts up a super-cheap price (somewhere from 4-9K) and gets people to email with interest. you email and say you are interested in the car, and they write back with something to the extent of "i am going overseas in two weeks, so thats why its so cheap. the car is already packed up and ready for transport. i would prefer payment go through ebay/paypal so that i am protected. i will ship the car upon receipt of funds". haha YEAH RIGHT!!!!

sounds like the OP here is involved with this same type of deal right now. i mean hell, if you really get a car for that price with no issues, then props to you and respect due! and im sure we would all be jealous and envious.

but i would venture a guess with 99.9% certainly that this is a complete scam.
