Could Use A Tech Post For Oil Change On '06 3.2??

I don't see a detailed DYI for changing the oil on an '06 A6 3.2. After speaking to an Audi mechanic if it's not done right it could lead to a major problem.

What sort of problem? I am not to sure how draining, and refilling engine oil could cause a problem. Unless you are like the PO of my A6 that chopped a big hole in the lower aerodynamic pan and still got it slightly off from the oil filter. I would be much happier if she had left the pan alone, not that big of a deal to remove the stock pan!

C'mon guys, I'm a mechanic and when I see a vehicle that I've never serviced before I look up the procedure and specs. Especially when the filter is not a spin on and has a plastic housing (and the car is German).....(or French). There's a torque spec for the filter and a size for the canister nut (36mm) and an assortment of fasteners that defy reason. There are DYI tech articles for car that have no pans to remove and spin on filters. Also, we shouldn't have to read through a tech article to find out what years they pertain to, many articles are for older cars and don't apply to the newer ones. When I try to find info on cabin filter replacement, because there's nothing in the manual, I find older model instructions. Step by step tech instructions are a staple in any good forum.
