Trading up

I have a 2001 TT and love the car despite all it quirks.

Im planning on buying a late model newer one, just because I HATE buying new and taking the depreciation hit.

If anyone here were to purchase a 2007, or 2008 model, what engine option would you choose and why (please).

I can read all the internet crap, but, I want to hear from those that own one and what they think first hand.

2.0 FSI all the way! tuning galore, and gas mileage.

Well I'd say the 2.0T but you gotta have the Quattro so 3.2

what do you want out of the TT? power or just driving around and look pretty?

I would like the most umph out of the car. I fugure it looks good enough in any model/color.

If you want a manual, you have to get the 3.2. The 2.0T only comes in S-Tronic (DSG)

if you want the most "oomp" TT is not your car. First it's way expensive to buy and the tunning is just as bad. quick comparison between my 02 quattro TT and my friend EVO 9. i've spent about 1.5x more money in modding my car than he does and he still smoke me with ease. TT is a nice car, hell it's a great looking car but with the money and choices available now in the market, i would not buy one. again, back to the question: do you want to look good or drive fast.

2009 2.0 FSI cars are now available with the S Tronic and Quattro drivetrain. Check out Audi's website. I've read that they are eventually going to bring the 6MT cars into the US market as well.

Well, I dont plan on green lighting any evos, thats not my bag. The one I have is quick enough, I figure the newer one will have just bit more get up and go.

Street racing is not for me, I just like to be able to pass a car or two at once on a two lane highway. The car will get tints like I have on my current ride and as I said, I think they look great out of the box. I suppose I may have lower expectations than many.
