Running n75 with Revo BT 550cc Tune ???

    I finished my full 2871 BT build today....and i have a question....

I hooked the n75 to my 38mm tial external and compressor outlet and plugged it in...took the car for a test spin...

I started driving and was having a blast, while forgetting to look at the boost gauge...lmao

So anyway, when i did look at the boost gauge while i was ripping down the street i noticed it was pinned at 25+ psi.....is there a way to turn it down without an sps3? maybe lemmiwinks? i know i can use a mbc but would rather just the n75....

    any suggestions?

    thanks guys!!!

no real way to turn it down with out a boost controller, and I thought that a external wastegate needed to be routed different than a internal, some thing to do with which side the diapham is on.

the other way you could try is to use a softer spring in the wastegate.

You cannot turn it down with Lemmiwinks, you will need a select plus or SPS3 to adjust the boost.

What wasgate spring to you have in the external? OEM is approxinately 1.0bar and that with what you should be running with the N75 to keep your duty cycle as close to stock as possible.

One downfall with running the N75 is that is is only accurate up to 2540mbar of boost (22 pounds)

No you do it the same since the valve gets pushed open on either setup using a MBC or N75 valve.

You are most likely thinking of how you hook up a EBC to a external vs internal.

With an external gate, you want to remove the N75 out of the turbo inlet pipe and run the long nipple that was in the TIP over to the top port of the wastegate. This will improve the response time of the wastegate opening and closing.

Make sure you plug the hole that the N75 came out of.

All that will do is keep the wg from opening sooner then it would without the pressure being put on the top. Problem is that it might cause the car to have even more boost spike then it would without running it to the top nipple of the WG and might even cause it to boost creep since the extra pressure has no where to go like it would when being dumped back into the TIP. I think doing this will just cause more issues then any real gains.

It is done this way when using a EBC because the EBC cuts the pressure completely off that is going to the top and then releases the presssure to close the wg. This allows it to open/close the wg at a much faster rate.

Actually you can turn the boost down with lemmiwinks. It's channel 10 I believe, SEL scaling. If he's running n75 only, this channel lowers the requested boost, but can't raise it past whatever maximum is on the tune. I'd only use it if absolutely necessary, but seems like until this guy gets an sps3, it'll be a good idea.
    Cheers! David
