Fuel Cut!!! WTF??

So i bought my car in November. Did the APR Stage I Chip with 93 Octane. Loved it but experienced some lag so did full exhaust with Test pipe and added the file, loved that but then started to feel some fuel cut. A couple of months later i bought an APR FSI Pump which should cure that problem. Got a little better but still felt hesitation in higher RPM's so i bought an intercooler because i was suposedly heat soaking or "running out of breath". Then i bought a Diverter valve and so on. Now after all this money i still have a hesitation in the higher RPM's especially WOT 3rd and 4th gear specifically around 5500 rpm. Whats the deal, is it the size of the turbo and its just simply running out of breath or do i need injectors for more fuel. I just highly doubt i need more fuel b/c i get like 225 miles a tank with the damn fuel pump. Can someone enlighten me. Im really serious about switching to Unitronic, b/c between this, APR not answering emails and some other things like my shop charging me 120 labor for APR update files im a little fed up.

IH8OEM had the same problem with APR. He switched to REVO and the problem has vanished...you may want to call APR and have them look at your car. Seems like it could be a software glitch.

yeah. with the pump, that shouldn't happen. Especially if they say the pump WILL fix that issue.

Don't get me wrong the pump helped a lot but i still have the problem just not on the same scale. It pisses me off because the car has crazy pull until 5500rpms then it falls on its face a little.

Yep, I'd say that's what it is.

I've spoken with APR about my Stage 1 tune and it's pretty obvious that the power is between 3000-5500rpm. At redline I'm only seeing ~8-10psi, but at 5500rpm it's ~15-17psi. Simple case of the turbo not being able to keep up with the engine.

Guess you should just buy a BT!

Dude where the hell do you get all the money to afford these mods? I thought you were 17 (btw I turn 18 in 8 days) You have one of the most impressive mod lists on all of audizine

lol thats how my car has been since I got the pump also !! I had GIAC b4 apr and it did run good .. just felt like the engine was trying to hard at top end ... and with the apr it felt smooth.

Maybe we need to take a look at another software company bro... im gonna do some research .. ill let you know what I find.

AWE will soon be offering their fuel pump and GIAC sw as stand alone upgrades when the BT kit is released (or soon after). It might be worth waiting for.

word...thats how i bought my car. spent the last 5 years putting money away while in school....now I get to rock my a4 while my other friends blew all there money on mid 90 mustangs and stereo systems. word. but, i'll admit....i did that same thing in highschool...hahaha...with my civic.

other than that.......i still say i'm going to go w/ APR. just for the easy switching ability between stock and flash progs.

sounds like it might be hitting the max of the turbo :( but for sure call APR im sure they will be able to help good luck

Everyone with APR issues seem to be 'really' modded (like max bolt on's). I like my APR, but sounds like other software are better for you crazy modders.

i agree with autoverruckt. all i want to do is a chip, lower the car, intake, maybe a new exhaust and perhaps some vag mods so the chime doesn't go off when i'm just warming/cooling my car. so apr for me. can't wait until the next waterfest sale! haha

You have a K03, of course you're going to run out of steam at 5500 that's the price you pay for having a turbo the size of my fist. You're already on the bleeding edge of the compressor map, you've just maxed out the stock turbo.

I would check the cam, and the follower cap for damage first. Also check the fuel filter.

its definitely the software. do some searches under my name and you'll see that i had these same problems about a year ago and we finally came to the conclusion that is was APR's software with the audis that's having a problem. they finally admitted it to me. i'm used to the unanswered emails and pms, so don't think that's going to let up. just go with someone else. you drive an audi, and apparently for apr, that means you are not in their market mix, and therefore aren't a priority

you got my same issue, if u search my threads. u canfind that someone posted that APR admitted its thier software. now, if such a well respected company would make a file for a car and admit it has faults, and STILL not fix it... i think it might be time to look around, dont be scared to leave APR, i wasn't, now im as happy as a pig in mud

Same issues here. Infact I took it to the track wednesday and about two weeks ago and it ran 2-3th slower that when it was just chipped with just stage 1. All the data loggs dont add up. I think its time to make the swich but I am giving APR on last try on saturday moring before it gets switched to REVO.

it's cause your turbo sucks. You probably have a f"d up cam as well. This 2.0variant was a bust. The b8 is much better.

Look at my sig for mods. I have not had any issue with FC except when i put the TP on but remember i don't have the HPFP to make up for it but revo screams up to redline with no cut out!
