Troubled times. Shaking when I accelerate

I just had my CEL come on last night. Yesterday I started to notice the car bogging slightly under full load, and felt like it was sputtering a little before accelerating. then last night the CEL came on (solid not blinking) and stayed on. When I press the gas lightly (so the car is getting no boost) I dont have problems, crusing is fine, highway speed is no problem, but at fully open throttle the car begins to shake a lot, and feels very unenjoyable. I was wondering who has had this problem. I have not hooked it up to the vag-com yet, I dont have one and im looking for someone who has one in socal.
    A little about the car
99 A4 1.8T Quattro Manual, 130k. Replaced the ICU around 15k ago. Checked all the coil packs they are fine. car is not smoking or making strange noises. Getting full boost on my boost gauge around 18-20psi (i have an APR chip).
Please let me know if anyone has some insight, I will still vag it as soon as i get a chance but untill then. much appriciated.

souns like it may be a dead miss, try to run a power balance test when you get a vag-com. It might be dropping a cylinder.

how did you check the coil packs? my guess would be a misfire from bad coils or plugs

hey everyone thanks for the input, i got it read, cleaned the maf, changed the plugs, and changed out a coil pack i found be be only misfiring at higher rpms. i did not know they could misfire as high rpms and be fine at low rpms, guess its pretty normal and thats why i ruled out coil packs after testing them all at idle. thanks for the help. I shall enjoy a spirited drive in your honor
