Maybe you should've contacted APR so they can fix the problem and send a software update...They might have even hooked you up...

That's odd, I loved my 2.0T APR software. I never had the problems you were describing. And it sounds more like you had deniers, rather than haters.

Another job well done. I believe he did get in contact with APR beforehand, but I don't know what came from that.

ive come to the conclusion that some cars run better on APR some better on REVO, every car is different, i just have the luxury of having a shop with an awesome tech and great friends. they have some cars running really hard on revo. but then again, i know of a couple (very few) mkv gti's thatrun hard on APR

how exactly did you come to the conclusion it was software related? and did you check if there were any software updates, ive heard of many companys doing updates on their software even for different elevations. i belive that it was the software, i was just wondering what had you so convinced to go spend that much money to perhaps find out you were wrong. glad you got it figured out though, happy tuning.

Re: APR gone... hello REVO TECHNIK

in my experience I have found that sometimes the file ends up being corrupt thus causing issues like the wot 3rd and 4th. I am currently having the same issue and after speaking with a few peeps I think ill go get s re-flash of my APR software to make sure thats not the problem ... If its the software in which my car will run better on different software ... i guess I will have to go and try something else out.....

maybe APR will have a updated software file =)

I had a similar issue on APR software. From what I was told, it was b/c I needed a FSI pump....Part of the reason I decided to get my money back and get an exhaust instead.

to you for fixing your car. In the end what matters is that you are happy with your ride. (it's not like anyone on this forum makes your car payment for you) I personally have APR and I am happy. I see you do have an upgraded pump. Maybe APRs software only works well with the APR pump?
Feedback from other people on this forum is good but just mod your ride in a way that pleases yourself.

yes actually alot more low end torque, rolling at about 2,000 RPM's in second, i can now punch it, and when boost hits around 3k i can light up the tires on a roll. :) and aside from that its alot smoother, i dont feel as big of a kick back when hitting boost due to the increased torque. i love it, car feels like it runs now, how it should have been running 15 months ago when i bought it.

plus a little side note, i got to 150mph last night (professional driver, closed course)... something i havent been able to do since i was stg 1 APR, because of the over boosting problem i always had in stage two

Re: APR gone... hello REVO TECHNIK

I've been following your threads with interest as there seems to be a lot of mixed results from users of the APR fuel pump & software. I'm not here to hate but in an effort to provide some clarity on your particular case:

    - were you running APRs Fuel Pump file but running an Autotech (rather than APR) Fuel Pump ?
    - did you inspect for the cam lobe issue ?
    - did you replace the fuel filter or have the rail pressure tested ?

Again, I'm not here to hate but for your situation there could be other factors at play rather than APR getting it wrong.... not saying that they got it right either... Just that I would not expect the APR Fuel pump file to be ideal for any car not running the APR pump.

It could simply be a case of the Revo map calling fuel within the scope of the Autotech FP where as the APR maps were calling fuel beyond what the Autotech FP could deliver. (therefore leaning out)

Anyway - It's a shame APR are leaving so many users out in the cold with these issues but I think it's important to point out that your case might be different to the others raised throughout AZ lately...

Glad to hear your car is now running better than it was with Revo running the numbers ! Cheers...

Im pretty sure they checked for all of the above except for the fuel filter, they are obsessive at that shop when it comes to fuel cut and cam wear on any 2.0T.

When both test pumps came out they tested APR and Autotech on the Dyno, and both yielded nearly identical results ( Logs and HP ), however the APR pump took a major s**t on the third run. APR took forever to replace it so the decided to favor the Autotech update.

Some times you just get a bad flash, & it doesn't run right. I had this problem with GIAC on my S4.

However, while APR makes great stuff, REVO has many more options. It can easily custom tuned to any car. It can also be easily changed when you add a exhaust, intake, or even a new turbo. The extra programs are also far cheaper. My full program GIAC ECU was over $1400!!! With REVO it would have been under $1000.

REVO works very, very well with the 2.0t, I saw on a Mustang dyno over 80ft-lbs of torque & 50 hp!

Glad to hear your car is now running better than it was with Revo running the numbers ! Cheers...
glad to find someone here with respect, yes, we did check everything and as HID said, the autotech pump actually outperformed the APR one. aside from that, i ran the pump with and without the fuel pump file, absolutely no difference. Now with revo i am not running a fuel pump file, just the pump and everything runs in perfect harmony. and as far as cam lobe issue, yes that was also checked when the fuel puimp was initially installed, all was fine, the cam lobe and the cam follower cap were checked again at the 30,000 mile oil change (which occured on tuesday 9-2-08) The cap was shown to be worn down and therefore replaced, again no difference i never did look at the fuel filter, but i did have everything else u mentioned tested. i highly doubt it was the filter, since now i changed software, and i am running amazing.
Again thanks for coming to me with respect, not like some assholes here
