I have to say thanks to Brandon at NTB of Grapevine, tx for doing my alignment. He got it perfect and it is now set at -1.6 Camber Front, .03 degree (1/16) Toe.

    Re: get looowww (pics)

Ride comfort is pretty good compared to only having aftermarket springs, its alot stiffer, so i feel bumps in roads alot harder. But as for ride handling =] , it is amazing!!! I should not have waited as long as I did to get coilovers, it handles like a super go kart, little body roll. Im not rubbing really, on the drive home, I did hear it hit a few times, but nothing major. I am going to roll my fenders soon though.

225/40 here. I know people running 235s on this wheel and I wouldnt doubt them if they rubbed being on springs.

I got them used locally . I did some searching around about the control arms and I heard that CPP is now closed, but I think other companies make them as well. I have to say that I think they are a great investment bc it was so easy to adjust the camber to perfect settings and being super low at the same time.

There are a few places that still sell them but I'd wait for purems.com to release their version.

While the car may look great and feel like a go-kart the limits are lower than they would be if it was a bit higher. This has everything to do with three things, lack of suspension travel, increased roll couple, and the toe curve.

Mike at PureMS should be coming out with his shortly and from what I hear, they work and look beautiful. The price should be very good as well. They have already been tested and should be available to the market soon.

BTW the car looks good, just a little to low for my tastes.

Gotta change your name or fix the car. Nothing fast about something without enough travel to keep the contact patches planted. Looks like the dropped Civics that fly down the main straight, hit the brakes, and bounce right off into the grass. Looking fast and actually being capable of it are often two very different things.

You people realize that most coilovers have shortened shocks/strut to compensate for the spring heights?

Which leave you with less suspension travel and less droop travel. This means the tires don't stay in contact with the tarmac which limits traction at the limit which is partially why the performance is compromised. That and the four link virtual axis front suspension was designed around a certain ride height range and lowering too far screws it up completely. The lowered car will feel quicker and maybe even twitchy but track times tell the truth. I ran my corner balanced coilovers at different heights and found that lower is slower on a real racetrack that I knew very well. When low enough to eliminate the wheel gap the car was no quicker on coilovers than on stock sport suspension. Both setups had the same tires (Pilot Sports) and bars (H-Sport) and very close alignment settings. Also ran a couple different heights on track tires. The shop that set up the car is on the grounds of the racetrack so it is very easy to tweak, poach a few laps, and tweak some more.

Seriously, been there, done that, compared the telemetry, tellin' the truth. You can feel the difference on the track as the dynamic toe makes loading an outside tire while unloading the inside very interesting. With the car higher you can throw it around like a rally car and the handling is more predictable. Also easier to get the rear to step out when at sport height or close to it.

Before anyone cries that racecars are really low you need to understand that they also have relocated suspension pickup points. They lower the car by raising the suspension mounts which preserves the countless engineering and testing hours that went into developing the suspension. They have also tested and tweaked that racecar suspension to the nth degree rather than just dropping it and thinking "man, that shit looks faaaast now". Far too many people buy a car for it's engineering excellence and then go about reducing it to a shadow of it's former self. Why does this matter? This isn't Playstation, you get it wrong in real life and you could slide through the pearly gates on fire. Maybe that is just more important to me but overlowering a B5 Audi is like making a runningback play in flip-flops. Reduction of performance potential never seems like the best idea to me.

I'm not a big fan of the slammed look. Seems like the car isn't very comfortable nor drivable in any road scenario. 2 finger gap between wheel/fender is perfect stance and ride quality even with passengers. But its a nice look on that B5 either way.
