    whats the correct engine psi?

    should be at around 120-150 psi on each. if youre lower than 100 on any 1 cyl youre losing compression somewhere.

    that low? Really? Maybe the A4s have higher compression but ~190 is good for us

    1.8t is around 180-200 yes but not the 2.7. i may be wrong but all my cyls had 130 on my 2.7... with the exception of the one with a burnt valve which was at 80

    last year I did mine and it went 189-187 all the way across I was impressed...........that was at 110k mileage

    id figure 9:5:1 comp ratio matching that of a 1.8t would be the same on a 2.7. i wonder why my motor had such low compression. dammit

    your motor is wearing down, it happens to all motors sooner or later. I had compression in the 170-180.

    I also think that 120 is too low. Lets just say I'd be worried if i saw anything lower than 150. Motor isnt going to run at its full potential with compression that low

    all above 180 except one ... one was 177ish

    there is no set number.. it depends on a lot of things when you do the test..


    the rule of thumb is within 10% of eachother is good..


    anything way off you have issues.
    Nogaro 01 s4

    24v 2.9L VR6. 6466. Pump gas 10.7 @ 132

    620whp 93octane
    806/767 whp/wtq on C16
    10.4 @ 136 C16 (bad slipping clutch)
    138mph best trap with slipping clutch.

    Factory 2.7T Specs:

    Allowable compression range= 130-188.5Psi
    Wear Limit= 101.5Psi (aka. rock bottom)
    Max Allowable Difference Between Cylinders= 43.5Psi
