Does anyone here have experience with B&G coilovers?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I just bought a black B7 A4 S-line Avant and have slapped on some 19" NAD wheels in hyper black on it but the sport suspension seems a little high. Has anyone experienced B&G coilovers see here:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/01-UP...spagenameZWDVW

Would H&R or Neuspeed springs do the job and sort of maintain the current ride? Any help would be appreciated... I also plan to chip and slap on an exhaust among other things and I'm glad I found this board for information! TIA

LOL, big skip. You're not gonna find coils for $350. The fact that the ad says "fits '01 & up A4's" is interesting considering there have been 2 different platforms since then (B6 & B7 are the same) with FWD and AWD versions of both...

If you want coils, check out the Stasis Streetsports:

    Achtuning

If you want to go with springs H&R's are great (I have them). However if you don't already have the sport shocks then you'd probably want to upgrade shocks too, and you're going to end up spending almost the same as coils, and should just pay the extra to do the Streetsports.

Volcomic-Eibach shows the same part# for coilovers in their catalog for years 2001-2008....
    http://eibach.com/cgi-bin/htmlos.exe...07797400020656

Look like the guy selling these bought a bunch at dicount... Believe me, I am very cautious!

My car does in fact have sport shocks so if I can just run springs and maintain the current ride, that would be a much easier conversion. Is your car an S-line with sport suspension? Do you have photos in the gallery? Your car is an inspiration as the stuff you've done is what I plan to do....

Pic of new ride (needs a wash) with current suspension and new 19" NAD wheels.... Needs to be a hair lower IMO. Old leased B7 in the background getting ready to go to a new owner...

I asked about these on the B6 forum about a week ago, got no response. I'm very curious myself. 350 is very tempting, but if there is a fitment problem, I wouldn't like to go through all the bull to get my money back. The suspension set-up does look like a B6/B7 set-up because the rear is not a true coilover like a B5. I might just do, I need to replace my rear shocks anyway.

    Pics of my car

My car is non-Sline, but had the sport suspension. I have H&R springs on the OEM sport shocks and I love the ride and handling (especially once I got the RS4 rear sway).

As for the part#'s that's strange. H&R has different part#'s for B5, B6/B7, AWD and FWD

i had purchased tein basics from prostreet online but their cust. service and shipping speed fuckin suck. Dont ever buy from them. I cancelled my order and ordered the stasis ss from achtuning. (on the way as we speak) once installed pics will be up. (iam on stock wheels though)

After doing the research, this application won't work for my car ..... I would have been all over them if they did! Nice people over there at B&G who took the time to figure it out for me...

Could you explain why it wouldn't work?

Re: Does anyone here have experience with B&G coilovers?

Basically the guy at B&G said they never made an application for a 06 B7 A4... Now I didn't did as deep as I could to find out if that part number works with a B6 Quattro which by all accounts is the same as a B7...so I've been told. But the guy selling on ebay is not giving refunds and I don't want to take a chance. Since I have a sport suspension, I' think I'm going with springs to lower the car.... If anybody does take the chance and it does work, please let us all know!
