What car is this for? If it is a B6 then it will be no good to someone else unless they had a tuner go in and defeat the immobilizer or change it for the car it is going into.

Then you got lucky and ended up with a ecu with the same code as you.

On the ecu it will end in something like 518 AF (2003) or 518 BC (2005) dont know what the 02 and the 04 are.

Around $400. Computers go for $100-200 then account for a $500 software flash on it and a $200 sps unit.

You bought a bone stock ecu and threw it in the car and it worked without messing with the immobilizer? What year is your car?

In case you missed this, here's the immobilizer clone instructions I posted earlier.

My friend who did mine is willing to clone others for a small fee with one day turnaround.

Re: How much should I charge?

The ECU has to be the same # to be compatible with the car, but the immobilizer has millions of different codes. For you to get an ECU that worked with your key is near impossible, unless the immobilizer defeated or you had the your keys programmed to it.

Listen, I have an ECU from another A4 that I bought. I cant plug it into my car and it will work. I can turn the key and it will start up and run in complete stock mode. It's what I do when I take my car to the dealer so they don't voide me for having an modified ECU. Simple enough...I'm selling my modded ecu REVO BI file ECU to someone with the same car as me and it should work, seeing as how it worked for me.

Woah there buddy... I'm not pimping nothin, I just forgot to include the link to the thread. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=231046 Believe it or not, I was actually trying to help you out

Unless your ECU has immobilizer defeat code on it, you cannot simply swap it into another car, even if it's the same part number. It's not an "opinion"
