    Recommend Smoked Tail Lights?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Are the majority of people here for or against the idea of smoking my tail lights? Any comments or answers are appreciated.

My car is a B7 A4 2.0T with a 20% tint all around. Its a black car as well. Does anyone have any pics of it on stock tails?

I think most of everyone here is for the tint. The red lights just stand out too much.

This is my own taste, but I've got dolphin grey and am no longer a fan of the stealth look. It makes your car look formless and like it is covered in a black or grey tarp (if your car is black or grey). CONTRAST is beautiful.

It makes your car pop and the heads turn from people who appreciate classic lines and clean form. Stealth usually appeals to that inner teenager in all of us, but it gets old kinda quick.

    Just my $0.02 cents.

i have tinted tails on my dolphin gray and it looks awesome. 1 word of warning though, you can't see anything backing up at night with tint and tinted tails

im doing the gunsmoke lamin-x on the ibis white...not to dark not to light...anything darker just looks ugly IMO...but for black i might just go a little darker...its more depends on your taste

I wanted to point out to you, that if it as a thread to ask ways to tint them, HELL YEA, I'll be there to tell you how to do it...
But its like asking others, what colour should you buy your own car...

My opinion is give it a go, and of u dont like it, take it apart...
Try Lamin-X, its not that expensive.. :)

    Re: Recommend Smoked Tail Lights?

Yeah I was unsure of the tinting... I appreciate the comment on the contrast part. I think now I will look for some lighter lights like led with white back. I agree with that so sorry guys no tint for me. Yeah I am a teenager, so it did sort of appeal to me. Thanks for all of your help.

If you know a place like a site where I could buy new tail lights I would really appreciate it!

BTW thanks for the pic thats what I really wanted mr meth. I dont think that it is for me. I think it flows well, but I am going to try the contrast idea first. Thanks for your help.

    Re: Recommend Smoked Tail Lights?

sometimes I wish the tailights on our cars came with a portion that was clear for the signal and larger clear portion for the reverse lights on the trunk. Tinting that clear portion just slightly would have looked awesome on practically any color car.

With that said, I've never been a fan of tinting the entire taillight. in many cases it reduces the effectiveness of the reflector and people seeing you in case you are stopped. but that's just my personal opinion.

Well put ! I couldn't agree more.... plus - (in Australia at least), it's illegal and just one more thing to attract the attention of the law.
