    HELP! How to remove 18mm sub frame bolts?!

    Trying to remove the 18mm subframe bolts but there is no room. They run straight into the under-carriage. Do they need to be hammered\bent or what guys?

    drop the lower subframe bolts(the ones that face down, then pry it down and little) and you should be able to slid them out. Thats how I did, not sure if that is the Audi approved way to do it.

    I did a lot of hammering with small steel pipe on the bolt of the control arm facing up. Took awhile but it finally came off, use pb blaster to soak in between. For the other control arm, hit upward on arm. Again use pb blaster on bolt.

    Also try using rubber mallet to on beat arms if steel hammer with rod don't work
