Cracked APR snub mount

So I took my car in to have the headgasket and control arms done. Due to some miscomunication they also did the timing belt, pumps and all that good stuff. I guess now I don't need to do anything for a little while unless it breaks. One of the things the guy working on the car found was that the APR snub mount that was in the car was completely destroyed. By that I mean that the mount had snapped in half. Has anyone ever heard of that happening? I'm glad he found the problem though. The car drives like a totally different car.

Same thing happened to my friend in his B6 S4, split that thing clean in half. Havn't really heard it before on a b5 though.

Happens a lot on A4's. Pretty typical of the APR snub.

I have the APR Snub mount. Maybe I should inspect it!?

They guys that found it weren't really sure what could have caused it. It's been in a couple of years. It's the first time that they've seen a APR snub mount that broke, but I'm sure it's happened before. What could cause it?

I run a vast snub and and it is great,

I had it happen to mine when my other motor mounts were in bad shape. It was basically doing all the work holding on to the motor.

get the vast snub, it works great, have it on both my S4's.

I would go 034+cage for the snub, it works for me!

i have apr mount and rs4 motormounts. i think that would crack if your others were bad but if not apr should be refunding that.

I had the same thing happen to my arp snub mount with 10-15k on it. When the motor was pulled it was seen as a POS

Are the APR (or other) snub's only cracking when they are installed without the benifit of stonger motor mounts being added too?

My APR had roughly 30K before being destroyed. It was paired up with RS4 motor mounts too.

I switched to Stern!
