Need Carbonio Intake Owners/Intake experts' help. With Pictures!

No, this is not one of them which intake is best thread.

I've had my carbonio installed for about a year now/ +/- 3000 miles. And one of the seals by the front of the intake box has ripped. On the front of the intake box near the pass headlight, there are 2 hoses; one being the Turbo inlet pipe, and the other hose (what is the name of that hose?) has a rubber seal with a clamp ontop that attaches to the intake box. The rubber seal underneath directly the clamp is the part I'm looking for. Does anyone know the name of that seal? Where I can get it? I've tried autozone and Kragens, no luck :[. That seal is making me leak and boost wierd.

    thanks soo much!

bumpp! Found out that he hose is called the "breather hose." Now I gotta find out what that seal is called. I hope the dealership sells just the seal.

Looks to me like that is the secondary air pump tube. When I changed over to a cone style filter, I put a small filter in that location. I'm not sure that would affect your boost in any way, as the secondary air pump just warms up the cat on a cold start-up....good luck finding the seal.

That seal + clamp has been bad for about the past 3 months now, it used to just pop off and I'd push it back in. When it was popped off, I'd spike like 15psi at max, once I put it back in, I'd get 19-20psi spike and the car boosts soo much smoother in terms of boost guage readings. I just found out today that the entire thing (seal and clamp) has ripped off.

    Thanks for the answers!

really you notice it boosts better?? I removed mine and put a screw and washer to cover up the hole on my carbonio. I dont have a boost guage yet but I hope it doesnt effect my boosting. Havnt noticed at least. Ive heard from a bunch of people you dont need the SAI.

if you call a dealership and tell them you need the rubber seal/groument that connects the secondary air pump to the air box they should get the name and part number for you. Also a price quote, which should really be no more $5 for that little rubber thing.

And in your photo, that hose seems rather ghetto rigged. You should not need a clamp, just the rubber groument/seal. You slip the seal into the secondary air pump hose, then place it over the fitting for the air box (the seal will be between the outer fitting of the air box and the inner lining of the hose coming from the secondary air box). It will fit really snug and there should be no reason for a clamp. But I don't know how the fitting on the Carbonio compared to the stock air box is, so..................But they look the same, minus the ridges on the Carbonio.

why would it affect the boost readings? doesn't that hose just go to the SAI pump and only work on cold startups? And it connects to the open airbox, so whether the hose is connected to the airbox, or not, how would the car know the difference the hose isnt seeing pressure as its connected to an open air source all the time right? So why would the car react differently?

I am not trying to be a jerk, just curious because mine pops off all the time with my Carbonio, but i rarely care about it too much because other than filtering the air to the SAI i didnt think it mattered if it was connected. So i am just wondering why this would be that you would get different results under the two different conditions. Because maybe i have been underestimating this little hose.

^^ Same here, but didnt notice and boost differance, before I removed mine my hose kept popping off as well, tried to fix it and it just kept popping off and didnt care enough to put it back so I just removed the SAI!

Lol I don't know how it affects boost either, but when I see that I'm only spiking to 15 or 16 psi, I know that thing has popped off. Once it's back on, I'm back to around 19psi spikes. When I found out that seal was broken, I took it off and just plugged the SAI back into the air box without any clamp/seal, and rev'd the car in neutral, it popped right off after reving, so I think it does have to do something with boost.
