    Someone help me!!!! PLEASE!!!

Okay, so installed the Podi boost gauge awhile back during the group buy and then put a couple dabs of plastic epoxy on the outer rim so that it is secure inside the steering-column mounted podi. Gauge turns to out to be broken and finally recieved a replacement from Winston, all I had to do was unplug the broken one, plug in the new one and BAM, problem solved....

But here's the kicker.......I had to be the dumb-ass and "thinking ahead" by gluing the gauge in the podi ***smacks forehead*** so instead of making a 5 min. swap a whole day ordeal!! Tried using lacquer thinner to break the bond then pry it up w/ a flathead, all that did was scratch up my steering-column mount and the thinner discolored is also!!!

Any have a fvcking clue how I can get the gauge out of the podi.

IIRC I also tried to take the steering column top off and just pry it out, but I can't seem to get the torx head on the fvcking screw!!! why would they put it so far in there w/ a tiny inch opening to stick the screw-driver through??!!?? And I am using a T8 torx driver, hopefully the right size??

    TIA

I'll get my podi this week. You gave me the idea to not glue-it there. I think you'll have to buy an other podi housing n put the new gauge in it. Use this as a bump n good luck.

yea, i am looking for another housing as we speak, and instead of glueing it, trim a piece of electrical tape so that it holds it secure......but even if i get a new podi housing, i can't get the old one off!!!!!!

in the future, use clear slicone for low load situations like that. It is removable and holds well. Also does not bond with or alter the plastic.

    good luck.

    Re: Someone help me!!!! PLEASE!!!

i feel your pain, on my last car i had a radar detector sitting on my dash. I used some sticky back adhesive to adhere it because it would always slide off.

The summers heat melted the glue, opened the pours on the plastic and stained the dash. I probably tried 20 different products (from cleaners to steam), 5 hrs of scrubbing to get that shit out, but it never did. The person i sold the car to didn't care but i know, that stain still lingers on.

Anyway, your thread bring back bad memories.

    Obijohn22, good tip.

    1. Punch yourself in the face. Make it painful.
    2. Have sex with a really hot chick (or guy or whatever). Feel better.
    3. Buy a new gauge pod. Try again.
So long, and thanks for all the fish!

    Re: Someone help me!!!! PLEASE!!!

first off do not glue the gauge to the column...simply use a smal piece of electrical tape around the gauge and push it in, bam, problem solved and gauge will not move
