sorry too lazy for the search button.

Do you need to sand down the front/rear Rings to paint them?

What supplies do i need paint wise for a DIY? and where do i get them?

Where's best place to buy the supplies? brand name products matter? or no? Recommendations?

How long does the process take? "Average" ?
    Sanding/painting/drying

How many coats should I apply?

Quick responses would be appreciated, i'm trying to get this done today or through the weekend.
    Thanks in advance!

    Re: Questions/paint/supplies

Since I'm on a strict budget after ordering awe exhaust, I'm doing this as well this weekend (sorry avantnoir). I really don't know what I'm doing, but from some research and common sense I decided to buy 300 grit sandpaper, a brush on primer that is supposed to adhere to aluminum, a rustoleum spray can that is pretty close to brilliant red, and then a can of clear gloss.

I figured I would lay down a primer that is going to stick to the aluminum rings (although they might be plastic I'm just now realizing. For some reason I thought they were made out of the same material as the trim) and then lay down a few coats of red paint and finally cover it with a glossy protective layer. I guess we'll see how it goes...

Good luck guys. I guess I don't need me to be in business anymore -
No problem. I'd rather find something better to do.
Try 200 grit sand paper. Rustoliem Primer and plastic dip on top. Wait 3 minutes between coats. Bake in oven @ 120 degrees for 5 minutes. Should look great.
