    Swapping ECU's

I am going to be getting rid of my A4 fairly soon (getting another B7 to keep for a longggg time haha). Right now my ECU is flashed with APR software. My question is, if I sell the ECU to someone along with their ECU to put back into my car what will happen when I go to turn the vehicle in? The only thing that I am worried about is that the VIN #'s will not match. Is it something I should worry about? Also wanted to verify that I can get anyones ECU as long as the car has the same transmission (manual to manual, auto to auto) correct? Thank you in advance!

You(a VAG garage) need to recode the immobilizer. Other than that, it should be a easy swap :)

Just get it flashed back to stock and get the reflash when you get your new one. Call APR, I'm sure they'll hook you up.

i think ecus are vin specific, so it might* not work, and if it does work, they might void your warranty if they find out that you're not using the original ecu

As long as they have the same part number. I got one from the junk yard - It's at VAST Performance for remapping right now :) Should have it back in a couple of weeks - then I can confirm :S
