Filler plate under warranty?

Hey guys, i recently saw in a post that someone got a filler plate from the audi dealership under warranty, or a service manager hooked them up, can anyone confirm if its possible to get one under warranty?

yeah it was me and its very possible.

i asked how much it was and a service guy over heard and came out and said "hey, a lot of times when we get cars from states that require a plate, we can get you a filler plate under warranty since a plate isnt required in florida"

and he called the warranty department and spoke with them for 10-15 minutes and got me a free filler plate.

if your in a state that doesnt require a plate in the front, and you have the plate holder in the front. go to your dealership and tell them you know someone that go one under warranty and they should be able to switch it out for you

ah i see your in NY. which requires a plate in the front. chances of them switching it out for you just due to vanity reasons are slim to none

I'm struggling to understand what you mean by this, OP.....do you mean he exchanged a stock front-plate panel for a plate-delete filler for free from the dealer?

You couldn't possibly be worrying about any defects from a filler plate.....could you?? lol

i think he just read my thread where they replaced my license plate holder for a NO plate filler plate.. and he wants to know if he can get the same thing...

but since an NY requires a plate, i dont see why they would do it for him


im in florida. no plate required, so they switched mine for me under warranty. (which is what they do if they get a car from up north, they switch it to the no plate filler under warranty)

OK, lol, that makes sense; forgive me if I've seen some random-ass questions on this forum.

Just go to ECS Tuning (www.ECSTuning.com), they have good deals on NO plate filler panels and most reliable/best customer service as far as I both know and have experienced. Also, OP, check the classifieds cuz people are constantly changing their minds on which filler panel color/finish they want and selling their old ones.

They carry a variety of finishes and looks for the filler, from grey, to flat black, to gloss black, w/ or w/o chrome strips, etc.

ECS is a great company. however, the prices for filler plates are expensive. If you are on good terms with your audi dealer, start there. if you know how to smooz the salesman that sold you the car then he should be able to hook you up.

Agreed, way inflated. And if you don't have the hook up, give the guys at genuinevwaudiparts.com a call and at least you won't get ripped off by ECS on OEM parts

either i'm blind, imcompetent, or genuinevwaudiparts.com is impossible to navigate. i can't tell what part is the filler plate according to their naming scheme, and i thought i found the correct part numbers, but searching that site gets nothing. can anyone post links to the correct parts?
