    Boost displayed on cluster LCD

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I was wondering, since I don't like none of the locations for a boost gauge on my car, is it possible to have it displayed on the LCD in the middle of the cluster? Since my car is manual, there is a blank spot on the screen right where it says the PRNDS for automatic cars would be perfect for boost display. I know it's been done on MK5 VWs. Can it be done on our cars?

    Thanks

Re: Boost displayed on cluster LCD

That install on passatworld is sick. I wish I had the time and balls to tear my cluster apart for that. Messed around with clusters in the past but on Jap cars that are cheap and easy to replace. F' messing up this cluster. Vent gauge it is.
    Miss my B6

Re: Boost displayed on cluster LCD

This is from a B5 S4 2002 I believe. It will also work on the CAN or B6 version.

I agree I hate the other boost locations (except the inside mirror one). I too would like to see something like the one on passatworld.

Re: Boost displayed on cluster LCD

well my pixels aren't dead yet and i am very interested in this. 2.slowt, you said that it will work for a B6? can you confirm this? Doesnt' the B6 use the KEY bus? at least i needed a KEY cable from vagcom (rosstech) rather then the CAN version.

EDIT: I just saw this mentioned on the mfg website:
    * EFU has been tested on A3, S3, A4, S4,RS4, A6, A8, All-Road, and TT in Germany, and S4(2000-2002 B5 Body) in USA. A8 use the same trip computer as A4. Please inquire with us. Also if you have installed a Nav plus display with a cluster display, you will be most likely running in CAN mode.

So again..... could you please confirm if my 2003 B6 A4 is running a CAN vs a KEY bus? I am pretty sure it's KEY since i just went over this with my friend who picked up a 09 rabbit last week, his is CAN, mine is KEY and since i don't have the vag cable that does both he can't use my copy of vagcom to connect to the VW.

EDIT AGAIN: This was on the FAQ from their site:
    Q. Is there B6/B7 support (aka, post 2001.5 support)?
    A. Not right now, we have not receive anything from supplier yet.

    DAMNIT!
I sent them an email asking if CXI (the MFG in Germany) had any plans on developing a similar module for the B6 platform and if not if they would be willing to discuss the possibility of such a product. we'll see.

Looking around on CXI's site (http://www.cxi-europe.com/) I was able to select 2003 A4 as my car and then add the EFU to the shopping cart. Lets see what the US distributor reply's with and I'll try contacting the MFG directly is necessary.

Woah! I have already seen the Passat one before but thats just TOO much work, I don't want to go there.

@widgget; Can you keep us updated? If it's available or something, I'm buying for sure!
