Does anyone know if you can conect the reverse sensor while the motor is half way in?

I forgot to plug it in and put the motor back in. The plug-in location is supposed to be above the passenger side axle on the transmission. My downpipes and heat shields are in the way and i cant seem to find it. I tried going through the bottom and cant find it either. Thanks for any help.
