Just wanted to introduce myself (B6,B5and MK4 VW wagon content)

    Hello all,

I've been lurking here for a while, and been into wagons for over 10 years. I just bought my second Audi A4 Avant, a very odd build, obviously someone special oredered the car as no dealer in ameriduh would ever think about stocking a car like this.

    Specs are as follows:
    2004 A4 Avant 1.8t quattro
Atlas Grey with grey cloth!!! interior
    Sport Package
    Cold weather package
    Bose
    Rear seat side impact airbags

I've owned the car for a little over a week now and I'm very happy with it. The extra headroom provided by not having a sunroof is fantastic(I'm 6'3") and quite a welcome change compared to my previous B5 avant. Anyway, onto the pics:

A quick pic of my previous B5, sold to an Audizine member just a few miles from me:

And a few shots of my very own creation(sold because I aquired a track-day addiction and did not want to see it turned into an expensive ball of metal...used the $$$ to build a track rat MK3 VW golf). This was the first new car I ever bought and first car I ever turned into a project. It started because I really loved the 337 edition GTI but I prefer the extra utility of a wagon, so I bought a base model 1.8t Jetta wagon(no sunroof, leather, alloys,etc...) and turned it into what you see here, my interprtation of a factory-built 337 wagon. Last I heard it was in Georgia, in the hands of a fellow responsible adult European wagon enthusiast.

    Thanks for looking,
    Tom

Welcome Tom - you're the wagon man! I'm jealous that I only have one (and an SUV - pseudo-wagon).

    I'm really digging the mk4, and I normally hate mk4's sans R32.

Re: Just wanted to introduce myself (B6,B5and MK4 VW wagon content)

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

Regarding the MK4 VW, I always called it a "Golf" wagon, I changed the front sheetmetal to Golf parts and re-badged it as a Golf about 5 weeks after I purchased the car(I really never liked the Jetta front on the wagon body). The car is sold as a Golf in the rest of the world, though parts of Europe were able to buy either a Bora(Jetta) or Golf wagons.

I honestly don't see any great degree of modding in the B6's future(I have a track-only car), Though "improvements" will be made when stock parts wear out. It needs a few bits of interior trim, the in-dash cup holder and armrest lid need to be replaced. The cloth seats show no wear, but a few spots need to be cleaned. The paint is in great condition given the age of the car, there are a few scratches that need to be touched-up and a little PDR on the drivers rear door. I hope to replace the brakes within the next month or so, just trying to decide which Hawk pad compound will be better for me and my use of the car.

I'm plannig on taking the car to the ACNA winter driving school in New Hampshire this year, so if anyone would like to sell me some stock 16" alloys please PM me.

I'm not sure of the cost, but the event is usually held @ the Team O'Neil rally school in Franconia NH.

The event is put on by the Northeast Chapter http://www.neqclub.org/ dates and cost have not been announced, I plan on checking the site every few weeks until the annoncement is made. Hopefully there will be plenty of snow this year, last year was great in the NE but was the same old suck here in the mid atlantic. I can not wait to live in a four season climate again.
