Good question, I have to change my rear brake pads soon and I'm wondering what kind to get. I have stock brakes so... Any ideas?

Akebono brakes come with the sensor attachments for our cars. My brakes are stock as well with slotted dimpled rotors. I was thinking of making a change to different pads if I find better.

depends, usually like 500 miles. 500 LOUD miles. but i mean they stop real well, i have them paired with stoptech SS lines and dimpled and slotted rotors from SPP. im looking into buying a stage 4 kit from ECS for the fronts however, more look but performance too :)

I run Hawk HP-Plus as my daily pads and they work great.... You can beat on them at the track and still have good braking for daily driving. They do squeek a little bit, but the stopping power makes up for that.

my hawk hps don't squeek, just make sure you bed them correctly, follow the instructions on the box and make sure you apply some of that brake pad squeak lube between the caliper and the backing plate of the pad.

I had plenty of issues with my HPS pads as well - my S4 sounded like a rusty old school bus when stopping. I tried new rotors, re-bedding, complete cleaning and re-lube, slightly chamfering the edges, plenty of no-squeal on the backs etc etc still no luck. After 6 months they were a little better but I'd still get squeaking and esp if they were hot.

I will definitly be trying something else next time.

I changed my dads brakes on his S8 to Red Stuff and adams rotors. he hasn't gotten past the brake in period yet... he still wakes the neighbors and scares the shit out of pedestrians.
