No, I had a 350D. Only full frames are the 1D and 5D (well canon that is) and those are way out of my price range as its only a hobby. The new 5D will probably be 3k+ and who even knows when its coming out. The new 50D is coming out soon tho. What I should really do is wait until the 50D comes out as I'm sure the price on the 40D will drop. But I can't wait any longer! The 1.6 crop is not that bad, pick up a 10-22 if you want some wide views.

I was going to get the 10-22 but I hate thinking about wasting money on non L lenses. Now that you're going to be a canon owner, you should definitely pick up a fixed 50mm f1.8, I've shot with a 50mm f/1.2 and that thing is nuts but for the price comparison the f1.8 is a steel! I just picked up a new EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS lens the other day so I really have the urge like you to get out and shoot!

Yea for sure I am going to get the nifty fifty. I will probably sell my 17-17 sigma and get the 17-40 f/4L too. Just because the 10-22 is not an L doesn't mean it's a waste of money, its a nice lens that covers a range that no other L does.

You should look for a good condition used 16-35 f/2.8 over the f/4. I have the feeling you'll kick yourself if one pops up after you buy the f/4. I told myself from now on I'm only buying the fastest lenses.

haha yeah... but you can probably get one for around 1k used... Let me know if you're ever in need of used gear. I can get new gear too but... you already live in the same state as B&H's Superstore so thats probably your best bet there...

There's no comparison between a full frame and cropped body camera. Price is the deciding factor. I wish I was rich!

Yeah I've used basically every lens Canon has made including the new 800mm.

The thing I like about the 16-35 f/2.8 is not just its "speed" but I do a lot of hand holding shots in low light conditions so thats where I really appreciate that extra f stop.
